Manipulating Ratings

Using Jamroom

Are you looking at a music by rating list?

Do you have a link we can check out?

Thanks!

Which datastore parameter did you change?

I've not played with changing the amount of votes via the datastore but I would imagine it would be the audio_rating_1_5, you may need to change the overall count to equal the total counts as well.

Also be sure to reset the cache too.

Hope this helps,
Douglas

I do believe it does make a difference, the ratings are calculated by how many votes it has and the star rating of those votes. So yes... a 5 star rating by 20 people should show in the list before a 5 star rating by two people, as long as that is how you have the lists order_by or search parameter setup.

Hope this helps,
Douglas

Meta Tag Manager

Installation and Configuration

I don't believe the Meta Tag Manager will do separate descriptions and keywords for separate "front-end" pages, a work around would be to modify the "articles" and/or "lessons" templates and add your own.

You can use an assign function above the header include function to do this, something like:

Keywords:
{assign var="page_keywords" value="your,keywords,here"}

Description:
{assign var="page_description" value="your description here"}

Then in your skins/YOURSKIN/meta.tpl file, find this:

{if isset($meta)}
{foreach from=$meta key="mname" item="mvalue"}
<meta name="{$mname}" content="{$mvalue}" />
{/foreach}
{/if}

and change it to this:

{if (isset($page_keywords) && strlen($page_keywords) > 0) && (isset($page_description) && strlen($page_description) > 0)}
<meta name="keywords" content="{$page_keywords}">
<meta name="description" content="{$page_description}">
{elseif isset($meta)}
{foreach from=$meta key="mname" item="mvalue"}
<meta name="{$mname}" content="{$mvalue}" />
{/foreach}
{/if}

Hope this helps,
Douglas

There are two places the ratings get recorded, one in the jrRating module and one in the module for the item that was rated... so if you are trying to change the rating for an audio item, you'll find the ratings in the jrAudio datastore.

Add her profile ID to the ACP > Skin Settings > Site News ID field, separate ID's with a comma, ie. 1,2 etc...

Also make sure her blogs category is set to site news.

Hope this helps,

I just tested this on my dev site and I'm not seeing any issues.

Make sure the "Display Groups", when modifying/creating the field, is set to "All Users (including logged out)".

Hope this helps,
