email notifications 'gobbledygook' replacing names?

Using Jamroom

This just came through in an email notification for a reply post to a private group:
"Here is the message that has just been %%e05c04b6%% [text deleted]

and is one where 'quote' was checked.

and I just tested in our tracker and this
A new comment has been posted by Holly %%8d7fa608%%

is coming through in email notification...

Wish I could report otherwise.

NO_LANG_FOR_ID error with Like feature

Using Jamroom

Hello all,

Hoping this is a simple thing.

Errors like the one shown in the attached screenshot are appearing in our home page latest activity stream whenever someone 'likes' a profile page.

[However, when Joanna and I use our non-admin/normal user accounts and test 'liking' another profile page, nothing shows up in the latest activity (but the like does 'take'). An example here: http://lewwwp.com/holly

If you scroll to the bottom you'll see that 2 folks have 'liked' my Holly profile page. One of them is Joanna. Bijan's like did show in our latest activity with the NO_LANG_FOR_ID error, but Joanna's like never appeared in the latest activity. Though I did receive an email notification telling me she had liked my profile.]

--Note: I have been deleting these entries from the Latest Activity stream to avoid confusion for our members. If you need us to replicate so that you can check something, let us know and 'Squirr' can 'like' another profile.

Any clue as to what we messed up to make this happen, and how to repair it?

Thanks,

Would this work (to use ratings for featured posts)

Ning To Jamroom

Hello all,

Whenever we featured a discussion post or blog on our Ning site, admins would go in and insert a 35x35 'feature star' (an image of a gold star) at the top of featured posts.

[So our members are accustomed to gold star meaning 'featured']

We've had ratings enabled on our new JamRoom site, and only a scattered few members are using it. I queried our members about 'do we need / want the ratings system? What purpose does it serve'? and received minimal responses. None of those responses were strongly in favor of keeping them.

So today the idea occurred to me that maybe we could disable ratings for all except admins.

And then we could use a 5-star rating to indicate a featured post.

And could create a page that showed all featured discussions, with links.

Has anyone else tried this above idea? It sounds much easier than:
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/ning-to-jamroom/26023/featured-discussions/search_string=featured

Thoughts? Something we're not thinking of?

Thanks,

JRdiscussion module search feature not working

Using Jamroom

Hello all,

We're using the JRdiscussion module for our main forum.

The following is the code in our template (for search)

[OK... I could not paste the code here; error message received. I'll send a second screenshot momentarily.]

Our search feature WITHIN the JRdiscussion module has never worked.

The 'magnifying glass' site search works beautifully and does pull out JRdiscussions too.

But, as an example, see what happens when we search within JRdiscussion for the word 'poll' and then see the results here: http://lewwwp.com/search/results/all/1/50?search_string=poll

Can anyone suggest where/how we might

(first choice) get the 'internal' JRdiscussion forum search to work

or

(second choice) how we can remove that search box altogether?

It causes our members to think that either they are doing something wrong or that nothing has been posted on whatever they are searching for.

Thank you in advance for suggestions.
*Anyone else using JRdiscussion: do you have the same challenge on your site?

Continued Calendar / Event challenges

I am sitting here dumbfounded.
You don't know how many times I studied both pages of language editor changes and DID NOT SEE this 'in my face' line to correct.
It is now fixed.
I am embarrassed and apologize for all the unnecessary waste of folks' time.
Closing this parade of calendar issues.
Thank you.

I'm so sorry to be confusing you, Michael.

I shared the screenshot of the language editor (lewwwp.com/calendar/admin/language)

and I'll attach another screenshot now of what we see in latest activity/timeline entries:

It's still showing this way... even with changes in the language editor.
But in the events language editor I do not find "is attending an event" and I don't know where else to look.

But this tells me that there must be some other place in the ACP or somewhere, that an edit is needed. I am not finding it.

I don't know where else/how else to let you know where this is happening.
In the timeline it looks like the attached.

Here's a link to another example (on profile page)

Yes. See attached. these changes have been in place for weeks (if not months).

But as per the screenshot attached to my first post above, and in our timeline today, whenever someone registers and clicks to attend a class, what appears in the latest activity stream says 'an class'.

There must be another place that needs changing?

Sorry, Michael.
I am not completely following you here.

We did use language editor to change "event" to "class."

That's why "...has scheduled an event" reads "...has scheduled an class."

But language editor only shows 'event'.

Are you saying we can't change this anywhere?

Sorry to be so dense,
