store items that don't exist in datastore showing up in store

Ning To Jamroom

Well, the error messages say it all really - you need to get a valid _item_id into to delete button smarty call.

photo titles imported as gallery titles

Ning To Jamroom

Quote: The latest jrNingImport module adds two options for photo to gallery imports - 1) Single Gallery - All images imported to a single gallery named the same as the profile name, and with the new gallery module field 'gallery_image_title' set to the title from the archive. 2) Multi Gallery - The Jamroom gallery named the same as the archive image title and the 'gallery_image_title' unset.

This has been discussed in other threads and the above is how the latest jrNingImport module works. Even though (apparently) Ning allows photos to be grouped into albums they have neglected to include that information in their archives.

searching seamless

Design and Skin Customization

jrSeamless does not have a datastore to search in its own right. You'll need to do a general search of the modules that it lists.

Delete redundant archive media files

Ning To Jamroom

If you did your import prior to jrNingImport Version 1.1.10 and you have the Ning_Media folder that is being used, then you can delete the entire Ning_archive folder.
If post Version 1.1.10 (which was only a week or so ago), keep the Ning_archive and all its contents, but run the tool to save disk space.

Delete redundant archive media files

Ning To Jamroom

soaringeagle:
Does this do what I think it does? Does this delete like if you have multiple files that are identical? I think I must have 30 gigs of the same file over and over and over again.
If it does delete the redundant files does it change the reference to every copy of the file to point to one file?

No. The way jrNingImport handles archived files that are referenced in texts and comments has changed.
Originally any referenced files were copied to the Ning_Media folder so that ultimately the whole of the Ning_Archive folder could be deleted.
The most recent jrNingArchive does not create the Ning_Media folder but accesses references files directly in the Ning_Archive folder meaning that folder and its contents need to be kept. But the majority of files there have been imported (copied) to Jamroom, so the Delete Redundant Archive Files tool deletes only these files that have been copied to Jamroom, leavened behind just the referenced files and saving a ton of disk space.
Hope that makes sense.

Some Migrated Blogs Missing Pictures

Ning To Jamroom

The 'Manage Media' part of the import searches all imported Ning item texts and comments for referenced images, and if found, copies that image from the archive to the NingMedia folder (and changes the reference in the text accordingly). It does this so that all that is needed is ultimately copied from the archive so the archive can be deleted. (NOTE that this is not the way that the most recent versions of jrNingImport work).
Its possible that some Ning archived items are not imported due to invalid data, archive errors etc. so if these items had referenced images would be copied. For instance, if a Ning member wasn't imported because his archived email address was invalid, say, and that member had lots of blogs with lots of comments that referenced images, all of those images would be missing from the NingMedia folder.

Ning To Jamroom

Its likely that we'll never get to the bottom of this!!
I know that the import process doesn't delete any files in the archive and the Manage Media process only copies them.
At least you can re-upload the missing ones. To be sure, you could upload the entire blog section to the NingMedia folder but then you would have unused files taking up server disk space.

You say they were missing from the uploaded archive so something must have happened whilst they were being uploaded.
It might be worth checking Filezilla (or whatever is being used) for 'Failed Transfers' when doing this.
