cant edit newly created pages (other site)

Using Jamroom

You should be able to edit the front page, Should be as easy as clicking on the SITE BUILDER button on the front page and then OK when the message:
Quote: This URL is currently mapped to the Elastic skin "index.tpl" template.

Click OK to use a fresh Site Builder page instead.

If you want to restore the page to how it is now, just delete the Site Builder page you created
and the current page will return.

Click OK to continue, or cancel to keep it how it is now.
comes up.

Sad to hear about your pain, hope you find some relief.

Installation and Configuration

This is the changelog for b10
Verion 5.3.0b10:
 - Bug Fix: Saving Global Config for non-active skin not saving changes correctly
 - Bug Fix: Some uploaded files with single quotes in the file name may fail
 - Bug Fix: module override templates for disabled modules in active skin still showing
 - Bug Fix: Searches in page search containing a forward slash resulting in 404 not found
 - Bug Fix: Tinymce strips out script tags even if jamroom allows them

Brian usually decides on the release dates, so I'll point out your interest here in case he misses it.

Installation and Configuration

Sorry. I thought your account had already been moved over to a 3rd party developer, just checked now and it hasn't, so I've changed it.

You should see more buttons on your profile now.

Check out this doc for how to package modules:

Docs: "Packaging a module for the Marketplace"
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/development/3440/packaging-a-module-for-the-marketplace

Its one of the developer docs:

If they are not there, they will be recreated when the system needs them, so no problem there unless the system is not able to recreate them, in which case you would get an error like:

jrCore_get_module_cache_dir: unable to create cache directory: jrImage

After skin or module updates by the original developer, what happens to customizations?

Design and Skin Customization

'yes' to all above questions. Good comprehension. :) Nothing appears misunderstood.

your profile pic is there for me.

I can see that there is no main image here though:
http://ourtownstory.co.uk/iamtimbo/gallery/401/the-gardens-bournemouth-c-1905

That unable to create cache directory seams like the server saying it cant write to:
/data/cache/jrImage/*

Maybe check if that directory is there: If it is, check that the webserver is able to write to it, and if it isnt, check that the web server is able to write to the /data/cache/ folder, so maybe check the system check for red lights.

Not being able to write to the cache could definitely be the cause of the image not showing.

as to the delete old versions of the files, yeah sure, no problem there, go ahead.

You can do it from
ACP -> MARKETPLACE -> TOOLS -> RELEASE ARCHIVE

Then use the REMOVE ARCHIVE to selectively remove packages.
