How to build a JrElastic multilingual-based site using the Site Builder?

Using Jamroom

Hello Friends,

I love the Site Builder feature. But I am kind of lost using it. Can Site Builder be used to build a multilingual site (en, fr, es, pt). if the answer is yes, then please tell me how?

Thanks

How to get UjCategories

Archived

@ultrajam,

Hi,

I have the ImagePicker and color spectrum module installed. Would you like to send me an invite to your channel? I am interested in the Categories module.

Many Thanks.

I just tried changing the URL from Music to Audio and it is possible and not that hard to do...

1. Go to your Audio modules info tab and change the URL to something other than audio so we can use that for the URL.

2. Rename your music.tpl to audio.tpl

3. In the audio.tpl file, there are 5 links that you'll need to change the URL from music to audio.

4. In your side_music.tpl and music_genres.tpl file, change the form action parameter to use audio instead of music.

5. In your header.tpl, change the music links to audio.

6. Clear the cache and test.

Hope this helps,
Douglas

Hi Douglas, once again thanks a lot for the support.

Thanks for your modification Tips. Then, I have just noticed that I will loose the word "audio" in the audio URL/page which is something that I don't want to.

I would like to keep it the way it is:

e.g.
http://demo.jamroomnetwork.com/richard-hefner/audio/1/deep-purple

The URL looks great and it makes sense.

Unfortunately, "music.tpl" can not be renamed to "audio" without renaming the audio module. Because "audio" will already be using by the audio module. Unfortunately that is the way it is.

Right now in JR5 it is impossible to have the text "audio" as a standard (default) word in all URLs regarding audio files.

Example, you can not have:

http://demo.jamroomnetwork.com/audio (listing all the audio files)

and

http://demo.jamroomnetwork.com/richard-hefner/audio/1/deep-purple (showing a specific audio page)

which would have definitely made sense.

Apart from changing music.tpl, side_music.tpl and music_genres.tpl, hearder.tpl or renaming files when needed, please bear in mind that we still have Music by play, Music by rating, Music Charts, Music Charts Weekly, Monthly, Yearly etc to edit.

The same procedure (file name changing and file editing) you show me must be done with "artists" in order to change it to "author".

You have shown me how to modify things and renaming template files in order to get things more generic. Now what do you say about skyn update? Have you tried to imagine how will the skin/template update be handled or difficult? All this, just because one needed to have a more generic looking JR5 site?

JR5 can be used out of the box without almost no major skin modifications, maybe just little things needed to be made in the header and footer. JR5 is ready to go.

Unfortunately, IMHO, making JR5+Skins more generic to be used by non-music/artists-based site is the only thing that requires so many template file edition/modification/hacking, template file renaming etc.

That is the reason why I am talking about a more generic JR5 in my other post:

https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/using-jamroom/2387/a-more-generic-jr5

All skins were made with music/artists interest only in mind, not for non-music/artists-based site.

for that sports page like youtube has:
http://www.youtube.com/sports

I would just get a list of all videos that are tagged #sports done, easy.

@michael

Thanks for the tip and the links. I will read them very carefully.

If you have audio tracks with those genres set, conferences and debates, then yes they should work.

Hope this helps,
Douglas

A "my last posts" page on jamroom.net

Suggestions

I had the same concern. I find it a bit difficult to catch up with my threads and my replies in this forum. Sometimes I would like to find a specific reply of someone to my post.

A page to my last posts or threads I started like in phpBB, IPB vBulletin etc will be great.

Thanks
