Jamroom Hosting - looking for a few beta testers

Jamroom Hosting

Nice. Do you have a rough idea what the prices are going to be for the hosting? Just so I understand correctly, you're going to be offering VPSs or full dedicated boxes or both?

Quotas Module

Suggestions

Yea, that's one of the first things I noticed about JR5 now that I'm actually working with it. I love how everything is modular in the new system, but thought to myself, it's going to take me a long time to add quota permissions to the modules if I need to create a quota "on the fly" or have 5 quotas on my system.

If you have a LOT of quotas, and need to each have to very different settings, then yes - I could see it taking a bit. But isn't this really a "one time" thing? After you're setup how helpful is the module going to be?

I hate spending a lot of energy on modules that are used once then forgotten unless they offer a real significant advantage.

Good point. After the initial setup, yes it wouldn't really need to be modified unless you added a new quota. Though, having this might help new people using JR who might not be able to remember every module they have on their system. So, it could serve a dual purpose: showing admins which modules are active for which quotas and a general list of all the modules which apply to quotas on the system.

It's up to you guys what modules you want to create. Just throwing it out there.

Quotas Module

Suggestions

It would be great to have a module which listed all the other modules quota settings in a list form. I can already see where someone is going to make a mistake especially if they have several quotas and multiple modules installed.

A list of all the modules (rows) and which quota has access to the module (column) would prevent an owner from going mad checking every module to make sure each quotas was set correctly.

Features Listing

Suggestions

I think it would be great to have a features listing for site owners which are looking to have a premium signup page. So, I wanted to create this thread as reference. If this thread belongs in another forum, please move it.

The list should be geared toward sales. An example: "Videos" vs. "Ability to upload and convert videos to multiple formats for multiple devices."

Post into this thread features and I will add to the this post and we can come up with a list of features which a JR owner can use to create a feature list for their site.

Features List

1.
2.

Come on Brian... no mention about the "Patriots" comment in my most? I was expecting a, "who you callin a Pats fan." LOL! I'm an Eagles fan and GO SEAHAWKS - I dislike the Patriots!

OH Man - this is what I get when I'm quickly "scanning" the forum - overlooked this!

I hope the Hawks smoke the Pats tomorrow - not sure if that is going to happen as this year has just been so "up and down" but they are in the SB again, so I'm happy :) Who's gonna be your QB if Foles leaves?

I really hope the Seahawks take it. The Pats are really shady - deflategate, once caught spying and the rumors of the spying on the Eagles in the 2004 SB. I'll guess we'll know Sun night.

I don't thing Foles is going to leave, at least I haven't heard anything about him. Chip Kelly is very closed lip about his moves. Foles is ok, though I don't think he's a SB winning QB. Philly fans are very use to saying "next year".

As admin, from your profile, click on the YouTube button, then Create (plus sign). See the Form Designer button there, top right.
When you've added in the extra form field, goto a YouTube update form and do the same again.

Thanks Paul!

Go into the Form Designer for the create/update YouTube forms and create a new field called "youtube_time" of type "text". Then you can add:

Where is that located? Do I need to have the Simple Custom Forms installed? There isn't anything for YT listed under the "Forms" dropdown of the left of the ACP.

I'll tell ya, along with the excellent coding and features, the guys running JR have to be some of the nicest most helpful Patriots fans around. Try dealing with the IPS IP board developers... it's berate city.

Jimmy - just noticed your profile is set to private so others aren't able to see your posts - could you set your profile privacy to global so others could see your posts?

Thanks!
