latest discussions in ning skin

12/12/14 05:37:02PM, by soaringeagle

can the latest discussions (on front page and in profiles) be lists of forum discussions (wether main forum or other profile forums) instead of group discussions and if anything have a latest group activity that includes comments and discussions etc in groups but that latest discussions really needs to be the forums or its just confusing and misleading

Ning Custom Design to Jamroom

03/04/15 07:01:47PM, by terryksquires

I have a custom ning design and wondering if I can replicate it here if I decide to move over. Right now I have downloaded JR to get familiar. My ning site has flash, etc. www.todaysgirls.com but not sure if it will work here? Thanks for all your input and thoughts.

Ning Import module uprevved

02/05/15 06:06:41AM, by paul

The Ning Import module is now at V1.1.17 and has had the check for 'Un-approved' items in the archive removed as this has turned out to be another Ning anomaly. It seems that if a Ning item is set to 'un-approved' in the archive it still shows on the Ning site so needs to be imported. Affected items are Blogs, (global) Forums, Groups and Discussions. So if the Ning Import for these items is run again, using the 'Create Only' option, you may recover some missing items.

Group pages from Ning

04/23/17 10:07:54AM, by Isleander

Having now installed several Ning groups to our site, I am not seeing any of the many pages which were associated with those groups (please see image). Is this because these cannot be imported to Jamroom via Ning Achieve? Thanks in advance.

Ning archive out of date

03/02/15 03:26:18AM, by White Agency

Has anyone had this problem with the ning archive ? When we run the archive, the 'local' version of the json file is always a few days behind the original file. For example, in the archive we've run today, the first record in the members file is dated 2015-03-02 but in the 'local' version the first record is dated 2015-02-26. As the client doesn't want the site down for longer than 24 hours when we do the actually switch over, this gives us a major problem, as the site will not be up...

PaintMyPhoto - Ning to Jamroom Migration

05/28/15 09:06:30AM, by Artemis

Not a question, but perhaps a useful review for anyone considering a move from Ning to Jamroom. I have been working closely with Jamroom over the last few weeks to help @roy-simmons move his site, PaintMyPhoto, from Ning to Jamroom. It has been a huge task, with 26,000 members and 100,000+ high resolution images to move. We elected to use Jamroom's hosting service (which is working very well for us). In a past life I worked with many software companies, but I have to say that Jamroom hold...

Missing 8 groups on Ning Import

02/03/15 07:41:38PM, by Clay Gordon

Of the 20 groups listed here on my Ning site only 13 made it through the import ... i.e., are visible on Groups page. Looking in the datastore browser they rest are simply not there. But all 20 are in the JSON files as can be seen in the screenshot. The view JSON archive tool in PHP array is very cool. One note, Paul, you might want to consider making the default selection null (i.e., "Select an archive") because the first archive (blog) could be huge and take a really, really, really long...

RE Ning Membership Data .csv

06/30/15 11:19:16AM, by Ceri Shaw

Hi Paul I would be very tempted by the .csv thing (as posted on the Ning Creators site) BUT is there really no way to import anything else other than by copy and paste? Obviously c'n'p won't work for photos and won't really work for blog posts other than my own. I see that Plush Forums import content by using a web crawler. Is there no way that can be done with Jamroom?

Import only members (Ning 3)

08/13/15 02:19:12AM, by lmoliver

Hi! My intention is only to import the members of a Ning Network 3.0. How is it possible if Ning 3 lacks the Archive function? And if it were possible to somehow, includes import profile data along with the password? Thanks!
