Group pages from Ning

04/23/17 10:07:54AM, by Isleander

Having now installed several Ning groups to our site, I am not seeing any of the many pages which were associated with those groups (please see image). Is this because these cannot be imported to Jamroom via Ning Achieve? Thanks in advance.

Missing 8 groups on Ning Import

02/03/15 07:41:38PM, by Clay Gordon

Of the 20 groups listed here on my Ning site only 13 made it through the import ... i.e., are visible on Groups page. Looking in the datastore browser they rest are simply not there. But all 20 are in the JSON files as can be seen in the screenshot. The view JSON archive tool in PHP array is very cool. One note, Paul, you might want to consider making the default selection null (i.e., "Select an archive") because the first archive (blog) could be huge and take a really, really, really long...

Ning To Jamroom Made Easier

03/24/15 07:49:15AM, by derrickhand300

Something I have been thinking about lately... On Ning 2.0 we choose from a selection of Ning themes then customize them the way we want...we have access to that code in the Ning-Advanced tabs in our editors there Why can we not use that code as a skin for Jamroom sites right off- then use the DOCs to add the Site Builder to a custom skin? Not sure if this could be done directly- or if it would involve importing your Ning content to JrNingja- THEN making the custom changes using the Ning...

Latest Ning Import module released.

01/22/15 08:54:29AM, by paul

Ning Import module Version 1.1.14 is now in the Marketplace. As well as fixing a couple of bugs, this module has two new, and important features. 1) All Ning discussions not allocated to a group that have previously been imported to the Jamroom forum module can now optionally be imported as group discussions allocated to a specified group. Group discussions support threaded comments whereas the forum module does not. 2) The Delete Media tool, which is the final process of the Ning Import,...

A Tip Nicked From Ning Creators

01/26/16 08:43:24PM, by Ceri

Use the FB send button for signing up new members! This originally appeared on Ning creators...all it needs to work on JR are the literal tags. Here is a page which has it loaded:- https://americymru.net/event You will need to get the send button code for your site from this address:- https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/send-button And the code is below

{literal}
// (function(d, s, id) { var...

Ning to Jamroom migration and SEO

01/28/15 01:43:47AM, by jamesh

I am investigating the feasibility of shifting from Ning to Jamroom, in fact the Jamroom team are working on my import currently. So far so good, one major issue I must address is SEO, my 5 year established Ning site is very well indexed by the major search engines and that must continue for this migration to be successful. How do I go about ensuring that my search traffic remains intact following a migration of this nature? Have you migrated to Jamroom already? What would you do differently?

If you are thinking of migrating from Ning to Jamroom, we are still looking for a few Ning sites to do the migration with as a way of beta testing the process and ironing out any final issues. Please post here if you interested in helping us out in this way. Thanks Pa

New Ning To Jamroom Support Forum

12/29/14 09:47:20AM, by brian

Just an update for those wondering why the Ning To Jamroom forum looks different, we've moved all Jamroom Project forums (which includes Ning To Jamroom) to our main The Jamroom Network profile, and all Ning To Jamroom posts are now in the "Ning To Jamroom" category. As the number of projects has grown we've really needed to "centralize" our support so we can better handle questions coming in for all of our projects. All posts that were in the previous Ning To Jamroom forum are now found...
