Exporting from CSV Files

Applies to: Jamroom 7.0+ Last verified: 2026-10-24
  • What it does

The CSV plugin turns CSV files you prepare into JSON files the Importer can load. Use it to import members from another system, a list of email addresses, or test data.

You need to know the The JSON File Format: each CSV column becomes a key in the JSON.

  • A sample to start from

The plugin comes with a sample: modules/jrExporter/plugins/CSV/samples/sample_members.csv. Its columns are:

    profile_name, user_name, user_email, _profile_export_id, _user_export_id,
    _profile_created, _profile_updated, _user_created, _user_updated,
    profile_quota_id, profile_private, user_password, _profile_file.image, _user_file.image
  • Each row is one member. The _profile_file.image and _user_file.image columns are addresses of images to download.

  • Plugin Config

    1. Upload your CSV files to a folder on the server, such as csv.
    2. Choose CSV as the Active Plugin, save, and open Plugin Config.
    3. Enter the CSV Path: the folder, from the Jamroom folder, without slashes at the start or end.
  • Creating the files

On Create JSON Files, choose the files in Export Selected Files, and start. Check the result with Tools > Review Created JSONs before you import.
