Advanced Charts makes charts of items over time, such as the most played songs this week. It records counts, like plays or views, every day, and works out each item's position, its movement up or down, and whether it's new.
ACP > Modules > Listing > Advanced Charts
Charts need activity. On a quiet site with few plays, there's little to chart.
Tools > Chart Fields lists the counts that can be charted, with the name to use in templates. For example, audio_file_stream_count for audio plays.
Charts are lists made with jrCore_list, plus chart parameters. For example, the top 5 songs by plays over the last 7 days:
{jrCore_list module="jrAudio" chart_field="audio_file_stream_count" chart_days="7" template="music_chart_row.tpl" pagebreak="5" page=$_post.p}Chart parameters added to {jrCore_list}.
In the row template, each item also has:
| Variable | What it holds |
|---|---|
$item.chart_position |
Its place in the chart |
$item.chart_direction |
Whether it moved up, down or stayed |
$item.chart_change |
How many places it moved |
$item.chart_new_entry |
Whether it's new in the chart |
$item.chart_count |
Its count in the chart period |
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| History Days | Days of daily counts to keep (default 60). 0 keeps them forever, which can use a lot of database space on a busy site. |
| Disabled Modules | Modules whose counts are not recorded |
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Allowed in Charts | Items of profiles in this quota can appear in charts |
