How Do I Add New Members?

I have been looking for this in settings for awhile
My site is set to completely private- the only way you can join is by invitation
The landing page only has a log in link- no sign up link
How would I add new members using this set up?
I would like to send some sort of invitation if possible to their email address- but would settle for adding them each manually if need be.
Is there a way to do either?

Couple of options come to mind.
1) Create the members via ACP=>Users=>Users=>Tools=>Create New User (with the create profile option checked). Then email the new users with their login details.
2) Set user signups to 'Admin Approve' and add a 'Token' field to the signup form using the Form Designer. Email potential members with the URL of the signup form and the Token value to use. You'll be notified when they sign up, and you can then check that they are who they are and if the token value is correct, and accept them if so.

After you've logged in as the master admin, point your browser to user/signup
