Merging two people?

Hi,
I've merged two trees but have ended up with two profiles for the person that linked the two trees,
Is there a way of merging these two people/profiles?
Great software by the way.

There is no "Merge these two people into one" button anywhere. If there was, how you would you desire that it worked? Is this something that would need to be done often enough that it requires a button?

Hi Michael,
In my instance "William Henry Large" exists in the main tree and also in his family's tree. I tried merging the trees and ended up with him twice. I have also tried importing the tree as a GEDCOM file, ensured the "Sync" is engaged and still I get two of him!
There must be a way round this, what am I missing?
