We have recently had an enquiry about 'shapeshift' digital currency. The answer to that was the same as the answer here - Assuming that the currency gateway has a suitable API, a plugin for the Payment module could likely be developed. However, we have no plans at the moment to do this ourselves, so if it was needed, its development would need to be sponsored.
