Create a site Favicon that supports multiple resolutions including High DPI displays
Version 1.3.0b1:
- New: 180x180 apple-touch-icon and 32x32 / 192x192 icon images - rebuild the active favicon to create them
- Change: activating or rebuilding a favicon now resets the cached favicon HTML
- Change: msapplication-TileImage is now output as a meta tag (Windows ignored it as a link tag)
- Change: apple-touch-icon-precomposed links removed, and the web root apple-touch-icon.png now uses the 180x180 image
- Change: activating a favicon now reports an error (and keeps the current favicon) when an image size could not be created
- Change: the favicon HTML is inserted once per page, and also on pages without a title tag
- Change: favicon image URLs now carry the time the images were created, so browsers load the new images after a Rebuild
- Bug Fix: PNG images without transparency could not be activated when the Image Support "Convert to JPG" option is on (the default)
- Bug Fix: favicon.ico and apple-touch-icon.png in the site root were not updated on sites that are not on a cluster
- Bug Fix: submitting the Favicon Browser form without an image created an empty favicon entry
- Bug Fix: the Favicon Browser showed only the newest favicons, with no links to the next pages
- Bug Fix: the active favicon could be deleted, leaving no active favicon in the Favicon Browser
- Bug Fix: non-square images created icons whose size did not match the size given in the HTML, and a stretched favicon.ico
- Developer: working copies of the favicon images are now removed from the cache directory after activation
- Developer: imagedestroy() calls replaced by unset() - it has done nothing since PHP 8.0, deprecated in PHP 8.5 and removed in PHP 9
