Rated Count

Design and Skin Customization

PatriaCo:This part of the {if} statement in the jrElastic skin should only be true if there are rated items, correct?
&& $_conf.jrElastic_rated_count > 0}
but if there are no rated items, this should be false and the rated items sidebar block should be hidden, correct?

This is a SKIN CONFIG variable, it will not contain any "counts" from your system. This variable will contain what YOU enter in the skin config for the "Recently Rated Count" option. So go to ACP -> Skins -> Elastic -> Global Config.

TinyMCE inserting line breaks into some list items

Jamroom Developers

I think right now we're approaching this from the wrong angle, and trying to apply a "bandaid" approach to removing newlines entered by the browser/editor. Instead I think a better solution would be to strip all newlines and carriage returns from the editor content when it is entered.

Test this for me if you can - modify modules/jrCore/lib/form.php and change line 1637 from this:
$_post[$name] = $_post["{$name}_editor_contents"];
to this:
$_post[$name] = str_replace(array("\r", "\n"), '', $_post["{$name}_editor_contents"])
Let me know if that works better. The problem right now is that newline and carriage returns can appear pretty much ANYWHERE in the submitted HTML from the editor, and our "check" right now does it's best to remove what it can find, but I think a blanket approach of just removing all of them is going to be the only way to be sure.

Let me know how that works.

Thanks!

"My Posts" isn't really my posts.

Using Jamroom

My Posts should be the posts that YOU started - not every topic you have been involved in - or at least I believe that is how it has been.

For a listing of all YOUR posts (regardless of topic), you would view it here:

https://www.jamroom.net/forum/activity/1045/strumelia

You can see that by clicking on the "posts" link under your name.

Advanced Charts

Installation and Configuration

Audio charts are pretty much "automatic" - you should not need to do anything. How long have you had the audio module installed with audio files uploaded and plays being counted? Each night the system stores the play counts for the items, and the chart_days variable determines how far back in the history it looks. If you set chart_days to "30" but only have 5 day of history, then every audio entry will appear as "new". So you need to have MORE history than the chart_days.

Let me know if that helps.

Forum search results seem unlikely

Using Jamroom

These are REALLY common words, so the full text sorting algorithm is going to weight and sort them based on density, so it could just be that the most "error" filled post is from 2 years ago. The search algo thinks that is the best one to show you since you just wanted "error".

Contact Form Replies

Design and Skin Customization

derrickhand300:My question is about using the contact form...I would like to respond directly to the contact forms I receive in emails by responding to that email
Currently I have to copy/paste the persons email address in a new email to reply
How can i change it so i can respond directly using the emails?

You really can't right now - something would have to create a mailto: link. If you install the support tickets module however, then you will see a "reply" button that will jump you right into the Create Ticket form with their email so you can send them a reply.

Let me know if that helps.

Notification of new topic in followed profile forum

Using Jamroom

iamtimbo:Unless I'm missing something, is it not possible for users to receive notifications when new topics are started in the forums of profiles they follow?
Not at this time - there's nothing in the profile forum module to do this, and I could see it being VERY "chatty". Image a profile with 2,000 followers - not sure you'd want to be sending out thousands of emails every time a new forum topic is created.

Group Mailer question

Using Jamroom

perrie:So first I would have to create a quota, and lets say I call it "Group Owners" and then I would put the module into that quota?

You should already have quotas on your system? You just need to enable the module in the quotas you want it to be enabled in.

Another 'data too long' error....

Using Jamroom

iamtimbo:Thanks, Michael.....43,000 a lot? I don't know what you mean...!

I've seen the query that produced this error, and the reason is that your user account is linked to thousands and thousands of profiles, which is NOT normal. normally your user account will be linked to 1 or a few profiles. If you need to be linked to every profile in your system, it's better to just set your account up as an admin or master admin account.

Do you have a custom setup that is assigning every new profile on your system to your user id?

Thanks!

Market Place Sort

Suggestions

The marketplace is ordered by updated time - I've got a TODO here to update this, but at this time it's not high priority. It will get updated in the future though :)
