less strict search

Using Jamroom

It should already work that way - the default search is "OR", so it should find "bryan" AND "baker", with entries specifically as "bryan baker" scoring highest. I see it working here:

https://www.jamroom.net/search/results/all/1/4?search_string=bryan+baker

How To Move Groups From Profile Pages to Stand Alone Pages

Design and Skin Customization

We are all here (some of us day and night) because we are obsessed with it and love it-but there are going to be frustrations along the way

Thanks again I ALWAYS appreciate it

I'm glad to hear that - my goal is to (hopefully) eliminate as many of those frustrations as possible - so hopefully we come up with something that works for you.

I've not had time to watch the video, but it sounds like you're looking for custom fields PER item. I don't think that would be something we would add to the module. However could the info needed just be added to the item's description? You could also make some generic custom form fields - i.e. "product_attribute_1", etc.

Not sure if that helps or not.

How To Move Groups From Profile Pages to Stand Alone Pages

Thanks Brian
My frustration is only that my site is BOUND. To someone else's idea of how it should work and not my own ie Profile centric or being to that my groups are going to display in profiles "period" other than that I was just asking for the code

No worries :)

Jamroom is a profile centered system at it's heart - all we can do is try to make it LOOK like something is not part of a profile (which we can usually do). I don't say that to frustrate anyone, just want to be sure we're on the same page.

I think this is doable - we just need to identify your profile templates that are "including" your sidebar and then add in the template code I sent you in your ticket.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks!

Upgrade from 5.0.2 to 5.2.29

Installation and Configuration

g3group:
Hello!

I've uploaded the zip for 5.2.29 Core to me webserver, unzipped it and then after running the integrity check I moved the files to the live folder. I re-ran the integrity check and then cleared caches, but the module update tool is not visible. Is there an intermediate step I should have done or an earlier release I should have upgraded to before going to the current release? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

There is no module update tool - if you've run the integrity check and it's all working now, you should be set.

Hope this helps!

frustrated that things that should just be copy/paste from one location to another involves 3 days to find a solution

I apologize for the frustration, but using a 100% custom skin like you are using, which is not even based on one of our designs means you're going to have to maintain it and update it to suit your needs - nothing is going to be "automatic" - just an FYI.

Also - I've been programming for over 20 years and RARELY does "cut and paste" ever work properly the first time :)

Hey Brian

Thanks for confirming these two items but I would like to know what the possibility of getting custom attributes would be? I am asking as even with the new Service store I sort of have a need for it, i.e. some services I'd like the purchaser to input a date when they want it to start, currently there is no way to achieve this.

I understand that this will probably be a lot more complex and might not be worth the time required to do it. I sometimes forget that there aren't too many like me who will buy almost all modules whether I need them or not just to show support for the hard work you guys put in.

Could you use the form designer? I'm not sure what "custom attributes" are but it sounds like custom form fields?

Thanks!

1) Getting images working properly is doable and will be fixed.

2) We will absolutely try to get shipping options updated to work better - if the foxycart integration is solid we will check it out.

Thanks!

Is there something specific that it is lacking that is keeping it from working? Or is it that you're looking for a more robust package with more bells and whistles?

The Jamroom merchandise store module isn't going to compete with dedicated eCommerce packages that have entire teams focused on JUST the eCommerce portion - but hopefully it is "good enough" for 80% of use cases where you might want to sell a t-shirt or a mug.

Thanks!
