Just investigating this further, and it looks like you must have marked one of our email addresses as "spam":

Quote:
failed xx@xx.com (your address) Not delivering to a user who marked your messages as spam

I will remove that spam block, but make sure you do not inadvertently mark our emails as spam or they will NOT be delivered.

Cloud 2.0

Using Jamroom

There is no planned released date yet - there's still work ongoing. Note that Jamroom Cluster is not going to be a direct upgrade from Jamroom Cloud. While it has many similarities, some areas have been totally overhauled to make it function in a cluster A LOT better.

I will contact you via email when it's ready for a preview - note that at this time we're not planning any public releases of Jamroom Cluster - it's going to be a solution we offer to Jamroom Hosted clients. However you will get full access to it being an existing Cloud user.

Hope this helps!

Now Creating Custom Sites!

Announcements

In case you might have missed it, last week we sent out a newsletter announcing that we are now building custom sites and doing custom work for Jamroom users.

For many of you this may not seem like "new" news - we've always done custom work on the side - but I thought I would write up a quick post here for those of you that may not have seen it or thought it was "no big deal" :)

This is something we've been debating internally for a while, and decided it was a good time to announce. While previously we would always do small custom jobs on the side, it was mostly limited to individual modules or skin tweaks that might take an hour or two here and there - basically "small stuff". This has been inline with our goal of targeting Jamroom to tech savvy web masters - i.e. you do the work on your site and just contact us for those things that really need to be custom.

With this new announcement however, we are now taking on much larger projects that include completely customized sites from the ground up consisting of custom hosting solutions, custom modules, custom skins AND custom mobile development.

One thing we've continued to see is there are a lot of site owners that have a great idea, but they just don't know how to technically make it happen and bring their idea to life. So it has become clear to us that there is a need in the JR community for a complete "end to end" solution where we take your idea and build your site from the bottom up.

If you're a motivated site owner that really wants to make your site unique and take it to the next level, make sure and contact us:

https://www.jamroom.net/form/contact_us

And give us an idea of what you're looking to have done. The response we have received from the newsletter has been tremendous and really validates that there is a need in the JR community for this type of service. We're a small team however, so if you have a great idea and are ready to make it happen then contact us ASAP to make sure we can help.

If you have any questions about anything related to custom JR work let me know - I'd be happy to answer.

Thanks!

Multiple orange lights in System Check

Installation and Configuration

Disable the Proxima memcache module unless you KNOW you need it - if you DO need it, then you need to get memcache support setup in your PHP so Proxima can use it.

Have you considered using our hosting? :)

Profile Search Requires Wildcard

Using Jamroom

SoftDesigns:
How can we setup "Begins With" option on the Primary JR built-in search?

You can't- the Jamroom Search module doesn't work like that. If you have to have "begins with" for a global search it will require a custom module. My recommendation (again) would be to not do this - it's not going to get your users the results they are looking for, and overall would return much less relevant results - you would basically be sacrificing ALL your search results for the corner case of "begins with".

Right now the Jamroom Search module uses a special "full text" index that comprises it's own table which allows it to find all matching items in on query. Switching to a "begins with" search would require that the search module look into each individual data store to find matching results, which means potentially dozens of searches over your module data stores (depending on the number of searchable modules you are using), which is going to be slow.

If you feel this is something your site needs then open a ticket for us and we can check out the cost to build it as a custom module for you - we'd be more than happy to build it, but I want to be sure you know it's pros and cons before moving forward.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks!

Profile Search Requires Wildcard

Using Jamroom

JR can do "begins with" no problem, but it still may not be the results you're looking for - you would want to test that and see if it gets the results you want. Any type of sub string search is not going to return results that are sorted by relevance - just something to keep in mind.

before i go:
Found it and change the code but had no effect.

We're checking this out - we're not seeing any issues locally but are seeing the same issue on our Demo site. It's unique to Follow Me, so we're working to get a fix out for it that is also backwards compatible with Core 6.0.x.

Thanks!
