audio file setting = no playlist

Design and Skin Customization

glgalbraith:How can I add the option for the user to "not allow" and song in a playlist in the form designer? I have the checkbox selected but not sure what else will make this function correctly.

This would likely require some script modifications - it's not something anyone else has requested so would not be added as part of the module.

Quote:I may be mistaken, but I think this was in JR 4?

Could be - there was a lot of stuff in JR4 that was rarely used and was dropping in JR5 to make the system simpler.

Extended Days to purchase modules for none paying members.

Jamroom Developers

We've worked hard to make Jamroom 5 significantly more affordable than Jamroom 4 - all modules are priced lower, and skins are priced MUCH lower. There's no more charge to go to "unlimited" profiles, and you can get a fairly full system for free.

One thing we have learned over the years of supporting Jamroom is that users that are waiting on, or really need a specific module are also the ones who are the mostly likely to request feature enhancements or changes to how the module works. The $29 a year VIP Member subscription helps cover the additional work that always comes around after a new module is released, while allowing us to keep the module cost lower.

I appreciate the feedback, and I hope you know that we're doing our best to build a business around Jamroom - that means trying to find the best balance of recurring revenue as well as one time revenue. Sometimes we will get this "just right", sometimes it will take some tweaking. Regardless, I hope that even when you include a $29 yearly VIP Member subscription that you feel that Jamroom 5 is a good deal for what it provides.

Thanks!

combined audio/video setting order by....

Installation and Configuration

You might want to hide the "order items" button then - your users might wonder why they cannot order their items - just an FYI.

question on controlling uploaded videos by members

Installation and Configuration

I don't believe it will actually work correctly in this instance:

1) the Profile Limits module keys off of the + button on the item index - in this case that button is hidden from the user since the "index" is the combined index

2) Setting the limit to 0 would still show the "Upload Video" option, since that is determined by the options available in the user's quota

So it would be a hack.

A better choice would be to modify the jrCombinedVideo/templates/create_video.tpl file and change it to this:

{foreach $_vids as $mod => $_i}
    {if $mod != 'jrVideo'}
    <a href="{$jamroom_url}/{jrCore_module_url module=$mod}/{$_i.view}">
    <div class="video-choice">
        <img src="{$_i.icon_url}" width="72" height="72" title="{$_i.alt|jrCore_entity_string}" alt="{$_i.alt|jrCore_entity_string}">
        <br>
        {$_i.title|jrCore_entity_string}
    </div>
    </a>
    {/if}
{/foreach}
<div style="clear:both"></div>
<br>
<a id="video-close" onclick="$('#create_video_dropdown').fadeOut(100);">{jrCore_icon icon="close" size="16"}</a>

That way it hides it from being an option.

combined audio/video setting order by....

Installation and Configuration

_created = Time the item was created

*_display_order (i.e. "audio_display_order") = the order the user has put them in

Let me know if that helps.

question on controlling uploaded videos by members

Installation and Configuration

Right now you would need to do something custom - Jamroom does not have a "allow it to work before the current time" setting or function to make that happen.

We can look at modifying the Daily limits module to handle this, but it's not supported at this time.

How to use the jrGravatar module to provide a default profile image?

Using Jamroom

Strumelia:Curtis, you can change the default profile image for users and profiles to an image of your choosing, without using Garavatar. That gets rid of the 'question mark' avatar, and the generic silhouette avatar. But you only get to use your one image, not multiple rotating ones.

Yes - this is correct and can be done from the "images" tab for the Profile and user modules.

combined audio/video setting order by....

Installation and Configuration

This has nothing to do with Site Builder :)

The template that controls the order on the profile is "item_index.tpl" and it looks like:

{jrSeamless_list modules=$mods search="_profile_id = `$_profile_id`" order_by="*_display_order numerical_asc" pagebreak=6 page=$_post.p pager=true}

Which is correct and how it should be.

Question Regarding Seamless Module Function

Using Jamroom

I've locked this thread as it has gotten very long and we have multiple questions going on at the same time.

Please open a new forum topic for specific questions related to the Combined Audio/Video modules.

Thanks!
