Jamroom + FaceBook/Share This!

Installation and Configuration

Strumelia:Is the JR hosted server set up with SSL already?- just curious.

No it is not, and requires us to manually set it up. Unfortunately there's no real standardization between SSL providers, and each can provide any number of "chained" or "intermediate" certificates, so we have to configure that part manually.

If you would like SSL on your Jamroom Hosting server let us know - we can help you get it setup.

Thanks!

Installation and Configuration

ImageMagic is used to properly resize animated GIF images - if you will never use animated GIFs you can ignore it.

mobile usage

Design and Skin Customization

We just need to change how the mobile menu works here on Jamroom.net - I will try to get to that at some point, as I don't like the menu either.

New "Kickbox" Email Validation module

Installation and Configuration

derrickhand300:Well that tool will sure hurt your feelings!
out of 14,772 email addresses
only 11,970 are deliverable :(

I hear you ;)

What I have found is that if you allow ANY user modifiable text to be shown on a profile after a user has signed up (say you show the "biography" of the profile, etc.) then you will become a target for spammers, and they frequently use disposable emails that are gone with a day or two.

Date drop down showing date when not entered

Design and Skin Customization

I believe I found the root cause of this - update to jrCore 5.2.28 and let me know if is fixed now.

Thanks!

Date drop down showing date when not entered

Design and Skin Customization

blindmime:I guess I'll start over.

This is an Aparna-generated module. There is no custom coding to the module beyond what is provided by Aparna. I have added a "task_completed_date" field via the form designer with a date type. This is viewable in the update form. There is also a checkbox type field called "task_complete".

This module schedules tasks for maintenance people out in the field working on various Property profiles. When the task_complete checkbox hasn't been checked, then the task appears in their list of tasks to complete.

This is used in spring, summer, fall. It was used last year and now is being used again.

Last year, the client could update a task and there would be no date in the date field until she entered one. Or so she says, I'm thinking the current date would be showing since I've seen this happen on another jamroom site I have. The current will show in a date field when nothing has been entered.

What we do agree on is that showing the current date in the form when nothing has been entered is very confusing. You assume the date has been entered already.

This was changed a version or 2 ago to not show, so this no longer should be an issue.

blindmime:This thread was started because I wanted a way to NOT show a date in the update form when nothing has previously been entered.

That is how it works now.

Quote:You gave me some code to place in the module's index.php file (see above). When I did that, it didn't change the update form display of task_completed_date (it still shows the current date). However, what does change is that the current date value is actually ENTERED as the task_completed_date even when the client doesn't click on the date and enter it via the javascript calendar. It also overrides values that have been entered when the form is updated.

Hopefully that makes sense.

I think I understand - basically even though no date is shown in the date field, on SAVE the current date is being saved.

Let me know if that sounds right - I'll check out the code and see if we have some sort of "default" handler adding that in.

wonder search anomaly

Using Jamroom

Yeah there has to be something weird about that title or string keeping MySQL from matching the entry.

jrCore_confirm_media_file_is_local returns array

Jamroom Developers

I worked with Nate and the root cause here was that the 3rd argument is incorrect - it should not be an array, but instead is an optional "save as" local file path.

SOX binary is not working

Using Jamroom

izhmel:SOX binary is not working
modules/jrAudio/tools/sox

This means it is either not permissioned correctly (0755) OR it will not work on your hosting (i.e. your hosting provider does not allow binaries to run under the web server).
