What's the difference between a profile admin, a master admin and a power user?

Using Jamroom

Paul, I can't wait to check this new module out!
I have 6 profile admins/moderators on my site. But I also have a group of volunteer "Greeters" who love to welcome new members with a warm comment on their profile comment walls. It means a lot to new members to be made to feel welcome in person.
However I don't want my Greeters to have moderator powers. The Greeters will LOVE being notified of new members and it will make their job easier...thanks for making this module, will check it out tonight!
I'll simply clone a new quota off of regular members, and call it Greeters and put the greeters into it, then activate the module for that quota.

The only issue is that a couple of the Greeters are "Patrons" already in my Patron quota (members who make a large site donation), which puts a 'Patron' banner on their profile page...so I wouldn't want to remove them from that quota to put them in a greeter quota...they'd lose their 'Patron badge of honor'. This is always an issue with the system whereby members can only be in one quota, but we can't have it all. ;) The only solution for that might be to be able to activate the autofollow module for members by an admin-only checkbox in their profile settings instead of by putting them into a quota...but I don't really expect to get that feature. I am grateful for the new module!

Hmm...i wonder now...could I clone a Patron Quota and call it PatronGreeter, and set BOTH the Greeter and the PatronGreeter quotas to be activated for the autofollow module?

I-Pad Smiley truncates text in comment field?

Using Jamroom

Yes this happens, I just tested this on my ipad. I tested it both in a comment on a Group Comment wall, and in a post in a Group Forum discussion. I have not tested it in a Forums thread, but would expect the same.

"if a person uses the Apple smileys, the smiley and any words after it disappear."

perrie:
Strumelia,
just put something like {*this is my code} and it won't mess up any other code.... did I get that right?

Use the spaces between the asterisks and the descriptive comment, and remember the closing asterisk as well, so:
{* comment here *}
and have it all on its own line in the code so you can easily spot it.
Your comment can be something like:
The following code from Michael adds a button on profile pages for messaging

or:
This is where I used to have the code for showing the member's location, removed Feb2016

....or any description you like.

Perrie- in your written codes, if you insert some explanation or note to yourself in the code and wrap it inside {* then it will be seen as a mere note and will not be applied as part of the code. The wrap makes it inactive text. It's only a note to yourself or whoever is looking at the code, so that you know where a certain added code starts and what it's supposed to do. Such code 'comments' are handy especially as time passes and you forgot where you added some custom code or what that code was for. You can put/edit whatever description you want inside the two {* or you can delete that whole note, and it won't change anything in how the code is functioning.

A question about photo quality

Using Jamroom

Perry, just a thought- have you checked your settings in your Image Core module? Look at the Quota Config settings for each quota, and check the "maximum image file size" you have set for each quota.

oddness re: comments on videos

Using Jamroom

Ah! Yes I see that I have set only my moderators to have privacy options- and Sam is a moderator and is the only mod who has his privacy set to followers only- not a good setting for a moderator actually, since they need to make comments on content that people will see.
Thanks! I will conatct Sam and suggest he change to public.
Thanks Brian, I figured it was something simple! :)

oddness re: comments on videos

Using Jamroom

I have a member Luigi who received a notification that "Sam" left a comment on his (Luigi's) video.
Luigi cannot see the comment however. But I can see the comment plainly. He can see all the other comments posted by others, but not the one posted by Sam that I see there as plain as day.
As a test, I then left a comment on that same video, and both Luigi and I can see my comment just fine. Lugi cleared his browser cache, no luck.
There must be a simple explanation for it, but I'm feeling a bit dense today. Thoughts...?
Here is what Luigi sees on his video, he made me a screenshot (Sam's comment is not showing):

I apologize for jumping in- I can't answer your questions and will leave that to someone else, ...but it does seem to me that if you added/edited two or three sign-up questions that required a 'live human with a an actual working brain' type of answer, it would probably prevent hundreds of bot signups to begin with. It might make your task easier?
