I was wanting to get rid of that little calendar icon too...
It's the line that ends in "calendar_icon.png", right? (for me it's line 99)

Looks less "windows '95" now... hahaha

p.s. also on the line AFTER that (for 'titles' of the events), I changed the truncate to 30 instaed of 20, so that "Melodies &..." and "Those were the..." became "Melodies & Musings" and "Those Were the Days...". With the little calendar icon gone, there was room for a little more text there.

Suggestions

A rotating member photo slideshow would be great on the Home page. As it is now, if one member posts 12 photos in a day, they pretty much take up the whole Home page photo section for themselves. This will encourage people who are trying to promote themselves. Or...I had a bunch of photos of a guy with a beer gut standing proudly in front of his lawn mower...or somebody's great grandchild newborn...not saying they can't add photos like that, but it's not really what I'd like to take over my music site's home page. Better to rotate random photos so you don't get a whole chunk from just one person taking up the home page... ever. Just a thought. (p.s. i do not have site builder for my ningja bundle)

Right on my own profile page- see screenshot. All those posts inthe Latest Posts module are posts I made in GROUP Discussions...not in Forum discussions.

I want it to be in a TAB on everyone's Profile page. This relates to the unsolved thread I have not come back to yet: https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/new_posts/21205/other-odd-forum-behavior

Currently, I have a TAB on my profile page called "Discussions"...but it's empty. I am gathering...?... that it means I can start a whole forum on my OWN profile page...?

--I don't want anyone on my site having or starting their own profile page forum(s). Only a single site-wide Forum area with categories. (as I was explaining rather poorly to Brian in that other thread)
--I would like the "Discussions" TAB on all Profile pages on my site to show the latest discussions STARTED/CREATED by that member in the FORUM section of the site. (not Group discussion posts)
-- and I would like the "Latest Posts" MODULE on every profile page to say "Latest Forum Posts" and show that member's latest FORUM discussion posts, not their latest Group discussion posts. (similar to what was changed on the index/home page recently)

Currently, one can see the member's latest GROUP discussion posts pop up on their profile page's Timeline/Latest Activity module on their profile page, AND on the site's main index page timeline. That's enough for me.

I hope i have explained this so it's readable.
As I have things on my site right now, it's very confusing to me and will be twice as confusing to my thousands of members, so I really must change quite a few of these things that seem so confusing to people coming from years of Ning. My goal is not to 're-create' a ning site, but on the other hand I can't have so many things navigating to something other than what members would expect.
I apologize that my skills are not up to what I'm trying to do and understand at this point. I'm learning every day...but not quite fast enough! Months from now Im sure this tweaking/changing will all be second nature to me. I can do things now on my site that I wouldn't have dreamed of doing a month ago.

Oh, the "allowed on profile" checkbox?- I thought that just meant the groups they are a member of would show on their profile page under their "groups" tab.

I would like a Profile page TAB for "Forums" that takes you to a list of any Forum Discussions that that particular member has created. (not a list of all the forum discussions the member has posted in)

Related NOTE: the profile page module that is called "Latest Posts" is actually a list of latest GROUP Posts, not latest Forum Posts...this is still a remaining artifact from when all discussions were thought to be Group discussions. Thus, there is currenlty pretty much nothing on a profile page showing the member's Forum contributions. I need to figure out how to change it so that EITHER the module title says Latest Group Posts, OR so that the module actually points to latest FORUM discussion posts by the member.

Am not seeing a pagination or "load more" on long forum discussion threads

On Forum discussion threads with many many posts (over 100 for example), I am not getting any kind of pagination or 'load more' at the bottom. The entire thread loads on one page and creating a huge loooong page.

In my Groups Discussions, long discussion threads DO have a "load more" link at bottom of a reasonable number of posts. That's good!- but I need that to also be in my Forum Discussion threads as well. Like say have a "load more" after 25 or 30 posts within a long thread. Having 150 discussion posts on one page is not optimal and just keeps loading forever...
