Can no longer add links to images

CURTIS- Did that work for you?- are you now getting the 'edit' window and the resizing handles back in your embedded images on Chrome and FF?

Before I apply this I'll need to dig back in time to find where I tweaked the tnymce editor code to make the editor menu the way i like it, so I can tweak it again after this update. --I just wanted to check if this update worked for Curtis before i go digging for my old tweaks. That old thread is here somewhere... =8-\
Thanks!

Yeah, it's frustrating. I can no longer easily reduce the size of an embedded image buy just pulling the handles, when a member embeds a huge jpg into a post. That's the issue I noticed right away...and as Curtis wrote, "the image editing box that was loading beneath the highlighted image is no longer appearing"...that's on both FF and Chrome for me.

Do uploaded video and audio clips ever get validated/checked?

Using Jamroom

Paul thanks. I'm only thinking that one day internet standards may change to the point where such 'old technology' files might no longer be supported to play. At that point I'd have to hand check a couple thousand uploaded video and audio files on my site myself, one at a time, to see if they're still working. Guess maybe I;'m worrying too far ahead. ;) But I just had the thought and wondered if it was something that the platform already takes care of. Thanks for the info, good to know!

Do uploaded video and audio clips ever get validated/checked?

Using Jamroom

I know my Soundcloud, Vimeo, and YouTube items get periodically validated through either the module settings or via Integrity check, to check if the item is still there and still working. But do videos and audios uploaded by members ever get automatically checked in some way to see if they're still functional? (assuming the member is still on the site) ?
If their 5 year old uploaded video stopped working at some point, would i know about it aside from some member perhaps alerting me? Just wondering....thanks

On FF i get the image resizing handles when highlighting the image, but no edit/delete options. On Chrome I don't even get the handles to resize.
My skin is a ninja-based customized clone.

"inside the tinymce editor I can no longer select an image thats placed in an article and add a link to it- the mouse will not allow highlighting images and the image editing box that was loading beneath the highlighted image is no longer appearing"

I'm seeing the same thing.
I go to a post (my own or someone else's) that has an image embedded inside it... click to EDIT the post. Then in the editor window i click on the image and no longer get the 'edit/delete' drop down little option, and no longer even get the handles on the highlighted image in order to drag it larger or smaller. I can still edit the post's text just fine...but not the image.
For example, in this thread, JR Team if you still have my login, try editing any post that has an embedded image:
https://fotmd.com/forums/forum/off-topic-discussions/15188/pets-and-dulcimers
...I can no longer easily edit the image if I go to edit a post.

Logging Out

Using Jamroom

Michael, I had much the same experience as you, but on Chrome. At this point I do find myself logged out whenever I clear my browser cookies, which i do about once a month or so. This is to be expected. Normally I'm on my Win desktop and i seem to stay logged in, but often when i go on my other devices a couple times a week (ipad, android phone, macbook) i'll find I'm not logged in by default. I think that's probably normal and is no big deal for me.

Keith, I suggest that you ask those particular users whether they are on Mac/windows/iOS/android and ask them what browsers they are using. This would give you an overview on where the trouble might lie. Knowing the pattern of where this is occurring would be very helpful.
If you find that most of them are on a particular browser, then download that browser yourself and do some testing with it to see if the same thing happens to you. Go through that browser's settings to see if there's a setting like "Clear site cookies on closing browser" or other settings that might be effecting things for those users. Find out if those users are either turning off their computer and/or closing their browser every time they walk away from the internet.
When this happens to an occasional member of mine, I usually find they are doing something that forces site log offs. My members tend to be older and it's often difficult to get them to investigate their own computer problems and settings. Sometimes there is only so much i can do for them if the issue is on their end or is a browser issue.

Logging Out

Look in your ACP>jrUser module>global config>account tab
...there are a couple settings you can adjust. there that might help them. Of course they have to be sure they are checking the "Keep me logged in" box when they do log in.
They may also have some browser settings related to it that they may need to look at if none of the above works...but that's on their end.

my Premium Cometchat disappeared- related to SSL/https changes?

Using Jamroom

Well, I wouldn't say scam. I feel they are a bit too greedy, considering the inconveniences their U.S. customers deal with in getting tech support... due to the language and time zone differences.
Yes, big thanks to JR team for giving us Simple Chat... always supported, updated, ...and free with the JR hosting plan. :D
