Changing How a List Looks

Applies to: Jamroom 7.0+ Last verified: 2026-10-24
  • Two ways

    Lists of items, such as the newest audio or the members on a profile, are made by templates. You can change how a list looks in one place, or everywhere.

  • In one place: a template for the list

    In the template that shows the list, give {jrCore_list} your own template:

    {jrCore_list module="jrAudio" order_by="_created desc" limit="5" template="my_audio_list.tpl"}
  • Jamroom looks for my_audio_list.tpl in the active skin's folder. Only this list uses it. A good start is a copy of the module's own item_list.tpl, from modules/jrAudio/templates/.

  • Everywhere: override the module's template

    To change a module template everywhere, put a template named <module>_<template> in your skin. For example, jrAudio_item_list.tpl in the skin's folder replaces modules/jrAudio/templates/item_list.tpl on every page.

    You can also change a module's templates on its Templates tab (ACP > Modules > (module) > Templates), with the Template Editor. See Using the Template Editor.

    For more, see Altering a Module's Template.
