Item Ratings lets users rate items, such as songs, videos or blog posts, with stars. Each item shows its average rating and number of votes. Lists can be sorted by rating, for example a "top rated" chart.
ACP > Modules > Item Features > Item Ratings
In Quota Config, check Allowed on Profile for the quotas whose items can be rated. The rating stars are part of the item templates of modules such as Audio and Blog, and of skins, so they appear where those templates put them.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Require Login | Only signed-in users can rate (default: on) |
| Add to Timeline | Adds a timeline entry when a user rates an item (default: off) |
| Rating Lock Timer | Seconds after which a user can no longer change their rating (0 = no limit) |
| Only Active Modules | Hides ratings of modules that are turned off. It adds work to lists, so leave it off on busy sites. |

Add rating stars to an item template:
{jrCore_module_function function="jrRating_form" type="star" module="jrBlog" index="1" item_id=$item._item_id current=$item.blog_rating_1_average_count|default:0 votes=$item.blog_rating_1_count|default:0}type is star (the default) or html.index lets one item have several separate ratings, such as 1 for "Lyrics" and 2 for "Arrangement". Each index has its own ..._rating_N_average_count and ..._rating_N_count values.jrCore_list by blog_rating_1_average_count, for example.
