  • What it does

    Payment Support (module jrPayment) lets your site sell things. It provides:

    • a price field on items that can be sold: audio, video, files, image galleries, products, service shop items and bundles
    • a cart and checkout, using Stripe, PayPal or Foxy.io
    • each profile's sales, customers and earnings
    • payouts: the site collects the money and pays each profile its share

    Item Bundles, Stream Pay and Subscriptions build on it.

  • Setting it up

    1. Create an account with the payment service you'll use: Stripe, PayPal or Foxy.io.
    2. Tools > Plugin Config: open that service's plugin and fill in its settings (below). The plugin screen shows the webhook address to enter at the service. Payments are only recorded when the service can reach it.
    3. In Global Config, choose the Active Payment Processor.
    4. In Quota Config, check Allow Sales for the quotas whose members may sell. Set the Payout Percent: the share of each sale that goes to the profile.

    Profiles in those quotas now see a Price field when they create or edit items they can sell. Visitors see an add to cart button on those items.

  • Payment plugins

    Stripe: Publish API Key, Secret API Key, Store Currency, Require Address, and a Webhook Signing Secret (enter it only if you turned signing on for the webhook in Stripe). Webhook, in Stripe Dashboard > Developers > Webhooks: yoursite.com/payment/webhook/stripe

    PayPal: Live Transactions (off uses the PayPal sandbox), PayPal Email Address, PayPal Merchant ID, Payment Currency. IPN Notification URL, in your PayPal profile settings: yoursite.com/payment/webhook/paypal

    Foxy.io: API Key, Store Sub Domain, Store Currency (it must match your Foxy store's locale). Datafeed URL, in the Foxy dashboard: yoursite.com/payment/webhook/foxycart

    With Stripe active, Tools > Process a Payment lets you take a card payment by hand. With Enable PayPal Checkout, buyers can also pay with PayPal when another processor is active.

  • Test with your service's test or sandbox mode first. Then use Tools > Reset Test Data to clear the test payments before you go live.

  • Buying

    Buyers add items to their Cart (a menu link) and check out with the active processor. Afterwards:

    • they get a receipt, and the seller is notified of the sale
    • items with a file can be downloaded from Purchases, in the buyer's account and user menu

  • Profiles and payouts

    Each sale is credited to the selling profile: the Payout Percent of the price, plus tax and shipping if those settings are on. Sellers see their Payments, Customers and Products on their profile, visible only to them. They enter a Payments Email Address in their Profile Settings.

    Credits are held for Profile Payouts Clear days (default 30), so refunds can still be taken back. Then, to pay profiles:

    1. Tools > Profile Payout lists the profiles with a balance. Select them and click Payout Selected Profiles.
    2. A CSV file downloads. Upload it to PayPal under Send Payment > Make a Mass Payment and complete the payment there.
    3. Back on the site, click Complete Payout. The balances are marked as paid.

  • Reports

  • Global Config

    Setting What it does
    Active Payment Processor Stripe, PayPal or Foxy.io
    Profile Payouts Clear Days before a sale can be paid out to the profile (default 30). Keep it at 30 or more to allow for refunds.
    Cart Service Charge A fixed charge added to every cart, such as 1.00
    Show Cart in Menu Adds a Cart link to the menu (default: on)
    Show Clear Cart Option Adds a Clear Cart button to the cart (default: on)
    Enable PayPal Checkout Offers PayPal as well, when another processor is active. PayPal must be set up in Plugin Config.

  • Quota Config

    Setting What it does
    Allow Sales Members can put a price on their items
    Payout Percent The share of each sale credited to the profile, 0-100% (default 100)
    Include Tax in Payout Adds any tax collected to the profile's payout, so they can pay it themselves (default: on)
    Include Shipping in Payout Adds shipping to the payout. Turn it off if the site ships for the profiles. (default: on)
    Show Purchase Browser Shows Purchases in the account and user menu (default: on)
