  • What it does

    Subscriptions sells recurring plans, such as a monthly "Pro" membership. When a member subscribes, their profile moves to the plan's quota. When the subscription ends, it moves back. Quotas decide what members can do, so a plan can unlock features, more storage or selling. It needs Payment Support, with Stripe, PayPal or Foxy.io.

  • Creating a plan

    On the Plans tab, create a plan:

    Field What it does
    Title, Image, Features What members see in the plan list
    Free Trial A trial period before the first payment, from 1 day to 1 year
    Frequency How often it is paid: from every day to every year
    Collect Payment Until the subscription is canceled, or a set number of payments (1 to 24)
    Grace Period How many days an unpaid subscription stays active before it is canceled
    Subscription Quota The quota the profile moves to when the subscription starts, or Current Quota to leave it where it is
    End of Term Quota The quota the profile moves to when the subscription ends, or back to the quota it came from
    Display Quotas Show the plan only to profiles in these quotas
    Price The price per payment
    Variable Price Lets the member choose what to pay
    Active Shows the plan in the plan list

    With Stripe, the grace period is set for the whole Stripe account, not per plan. The plan form says where to set it.

  • Subscribing

    Members choose a plan at yoursite.com/subscribe and pay with the active processor. Link to that page from your menu. A subscribed member gets a Subscription link in their user menu. There they can see their plan, change it, cancel it, or update their card.

    On the Subscribers tab you can see every subscription, and add, change or cancel one by hand.

  • Global Config

    Notifications (email to the member):

    Setting What it does
    Notify of Creation When the subscription starts (default: on)
    Notify of Payment Up to 7 days before each payment (default: off)
    Notify of Cancelation Up to 7 days before a canceled subscription ends (default: off)
    Notify of Expiration When the subscription has ended (default: on)
    Notify of Trial Expiration Before the free trial ends (default: on)
    Notify of Card Expiration Before their card expires, with Stripe or Foxy.io (default: off)
    Setting What it does
    Subscription in User Menu Shows the Subscription link to subscribed members (default: on)

    Tools > Import Subscribers copies subscriptions from the old FoxyCart module.
