Image Optimizer (module jrImageOptim) makes uploaded JPG images smaller without losing quality, so pages load faster and take less disk space. Images are optimized in the background, a few each minute.
ACP > Modules > Tools > Image Optimizer
It uses the jpegoptim tool from System Tools. Until that tool works, images wait in the queue.
Image Optimizer is a beta module: it's only in the Marketplace's beta channel.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Optimizations Per Minute | The most images optimized each minute (default 15) |
| Create Progressive JPGs | Saves optimized images as progressive JPGs, which show sooner while loading (default: off) |
The Optimization Browser tab shows the images that were optimized, and how much was saved.
