A modifier changes a variable's value as it's shown. Add it after the variable with |, and its options after :
{$item._created|jrCore_format_time}
{$item.blog_text|jrCore_format_string:$item.profile_quota_id}
{$item.audio_title|truncate:30}Without the modifier, {$item._created} shows a raw timestamp such as 1792882508. With jrCore_format_time, it shows a date in the site's date format.
You can chain modifiers: {$text|jrCore_strip_html|truncate:100}. All the Smarty modifiers, such as truncate, default, escape and upper, work too.
