Hello,

When you post a comment with a quote, the quote tags (codes. example: [ code ] = "" etc ) are displaying in the audio and video comments like this:

Quote:
[ quote = " name here " ]
...the quote text here...['/quote]

..the comment here...


Is this normal?

Notice: I added the ' in the code above just to get it displayed here in this post.

Sounds like you have not turned on BBCode support in the Core -> Quota Config -> String Formatters setting.

Thanks Brian,

All the Active Text Formatters is checked (turned on):

Allow HTML
Convert @ Tags
Make URLs Clickable
Allow Smileys
Convert Embed Tags
Convert # Tags

but the problem is still there. Also the "Allow BBCode" is missing from the list. Do you have it your dev site or the demo site?

BBCode support is provided by the profile forums module - make sure that is installed.

Does the commenting system rely on the forum module to work? I will not use the forum in my system. So do I still need to install and activate the forum that I won't use in order to get the quote to work fine on the audio and video commenting module?

The comment module does not rely on the forum module to work - you can leave comments without the forum module. BBCode support however is provided by the profile forum module, so if you want the quote tags to be parsed correctly, you need to install the profile forum module - there's no need to enable it in your quotas though, so you don't have to make it active for your profiles.
