Any thoughts as to why when i plug in a JR group RSS feed to google feed burner it spits out dead links?

the link feed burner puts out - http://shaleforum.com/skip-peel-independent-landman/group_discuss/63641?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Forum-HaynesvilleShale+%28Discuss+Haynesville+Shale+%29

The link it should be - http://shaleforum.com/gohaynesvilleshale/group_discuss/63641/epa-report-should-disprove-fracking-myths

These are 2 completely different links - what is the actual feedburner URL?

Does the link you are putting in feedburner contain /feed/ in the url?

Yes, it's for a specific group...http://shaleforum.com/feed/group_discuss/limit=100/group_id=707

The first one is the Feedburner link...it seems to be putting out the link via the poster instead of the group

That can't be the feedburner link. When you use feedburner (at least as far as I know) you enter the RSS feed and it creates a "feedburner" URL. What is the feedburner URL?

Thanks - I can see the issue here and will get this fixed up. Problem is that the Group Discussions module needs a custom RSS feed setup since right now it is using the profile_url of the poster, and not the group owner.

This url seams to be working correctly linking to the groups:
http://shaleforum.com/feed/group_discuss/limit=100/group_id=707

but this url is not linking correctly:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/gomarcellusshale

What is the URL that http://feeds.feedburner.com/gomarcellusshale gets its information from?

--edit--
It seams to be the RSS button from this page:
http://shaleforum.com/gomarcellusshale/group_discuss/discussions/709/gomarcellusshale

Which links to this RSS feed:
http://shaleforum.com/feed/group_discuss/limit=100/group_id=709

But the links on that page ARE pointing to the correct locations.

http://shaleforum.com/feed/group_discuss/limit=100/group_id=709...that's right.

I believe Brian noted the issue above
"I can see the issue here and will get this fixed up. Problem is that the Group Discussions module needs a custom RSS feed setup since right now it is using the profile_url of the poster, and not the group owner."

Im looking into it now and dont believe what he thought was the issue is the issue.

The links on
http://shaleforum.com/feed/group_discuss/limit=100/group_id=709

dont point to the same location as the links on
http://feeds.feedburner.com/gomarcellusshale

example, the first link on the local shaleforum rss feed points to:
http://shaleforum.com/gomarcellusshale/group_discuss/63849/bp-has-appointed-a-power-of-attorney-in-trumbull-county
but the first link on feedburner links to:
http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/gomarcellusshale/~3/bmYsk-n2m3Q/63849
which redirects to:
shaleforum.com/sage59/group_discuss/63849

Im not sure if this adds anything, but feed burner produces the following link - http://shaleforum.com/barry-d/group_discuss/63844. Of course this link is dead.

Here is the actual link for that discussion - http://shaleforum.com/gomarcellusshale/group_discuss/63844/shale-gas-spurring-plastics-manufacturing-growth

agreed. that's the same thing I'm seeing.

What is not understood is where feed burner is getting that information from. Look in your feed burner setup for clues.
