Looks like I can't change the quotas of 3000+ members into artist quotas by using the quota transfer option. Is there no other option available or is this closed ended? Thanks in advance to anyone that can answer!

Hi Paul, A Happy & Healthy New Year to you!

When I use the quota transfer feature (JR4) to migrate a member quota to an artist quota, I get the following error.

ERROR! You cannot Transfer Artist Quotas to Member Quotas, nor Member Quotas to Artist Quotas!

Transfer From Quota: [Member] Paypal Customer

Transfer To Quota: [Artist] Paypal Ticket Buyer

Looks like a legit error, so I'll assume that's the way it works.

Yeah - that's the way it works in JR4 - there are some low level differences in how the system works with members vs. artists, and moving between them was not supported.

Yes, with all the JR5 work its easy to forget how JR4 works. That does sound legit and I now recall that you change members to artists as admin via their 'modify' page.
So, to do it en masse you might need to do something directly on the database.
I'll take a look and let you know.
