Has anyone created an online marketplace/ retail store using Jamroom? I'd like to see some examples.

We have a skin setup for it. I'm sure some users have online marketplaces.

Nate - Thank you - I looked at the skin thank you - but I have no idea how it could adapt to what I have in mind as it doesn't show an actual real working online site: Anyway I would need help to set up a possible site.

I had been thinking a while back about doing this to sell some t-shirts. I myself never followed through on it. Using jr's ESkin would definitely be the way to go though.

Yes - the skin looks great - but I am not sure that the format it is in would suit my idea. This "seven decade plus old" does not have the knowledge of how to tweek "Jamroom" to fit my idea? Back in the old days I had to get help in creating my free Jamroom music site. Strangely enough, this idea I have of another site - when I registered the name the other morning - prompted about 6 emails from unknown persons all offering to help me with creating the website. Of course they are unknowns - ( obviously they have an ear to ground so to speak of any new name registrations ) hense me reaching out to Brian and his team who I know and trust. Hey ! I don't even know if Jamroom could be tweeked enough to create my idea.

Don, I don't know if your current JR site is on a JR-hosted server or not, but it wouldn't cost you much to do a TRIAL TEST by setting up a bare bones new JR site with the ESkin activated. I 'think' you could test it for free for a couple weeks or so.
Yes I understand that you might not be able to make it into the site you envision on your own, but if the SiteBuilder module works with ESkin skin, you might be able to get a few things tweaked, at least enough to know whether it'
s be worthwhile for you to pay someone to help you with further customization.
I'm talking about just picking a TEMPLATE/"layout" in ESkin, choosing your background color, maybe adding a few images of merchandise and your logo. Maybe I'm wrong but i think you could add additional pages to your site by using the Sitebuilder module.
---It might be worth a few hours of your time just to test it out.--- The worst that could happen is that it'd give you a better idea of what you can and can't do on your own. You might be able to do more and get further along than you think. (this coming from a non-coding person in her 60s, mind you).
The other part of what you said- yeah I agree that you wouldn't to be paying top dollar to someone unfamiliar with JR to build you a JR site- far better to get a reasonable job quote from someone on the JR support team- they know what they are doing and (per-hour) would do it way faster anyway.

Woke up the other morning – I had been dreaming that I had created a website which was very successful and was open to first of all - just local people and businesses. Local people from the suburb I lived were listing items they wanted or needed to sell or for free to a good home - you name it whatever the local people wanted or didn't need they would list it. In the dream because of the success of the website I had to expand it by creating different suburb lists. The locals in those different suburbs listed whatever service or items they wanted or items they wished to sell.
Soon I expanded it with local news eg: depending which suburb had what happening next week next month etc I woke up – It had seemed so real I decided to register the name of the website in my dream – It was available. Maybe dreams don’t come true – then again maybe they do? It was uncanny that the name of the website was available. You could say I am following “MY DREAM”.

What Strumelia said - Set up a free trial server with the ESkin and try things out for 7 days.
ESkin is very configurable without having any coding knowledge. As an example, I set up this site, with front page images and text, along with a couple of products, in minutes - http://pseudositecom.jamroomhosting.com/

No, not the Premium trial, the Hosting trial. Go here and click on the Create Server button at the bottom of the page -

We are in different timezones - Your reply was about 5 hours ago - It is now 6.30am where I am hense I was sleeping when you replied. I have just clicked the writing you sent through and it took me to a "PAYMENT AREA" stating monthly payment amounts. This pensioner cannot afford even the lowest of those monthly amounts.. I guess they are in USA Dollars too?. Maybe back when I was working I might have looked at it differently. I guess instead of trying something once more - I guess it is time to throw in the towel.

Hi Don
We only start collecting payments at the end of the seven day free trial. If you delete your server before then, there will be no charge.
So, you can try Jamroom out in that seven day period. If you then want to continue with it, you can either stay with our hosting, or set up a site with another hosting company. The choice is yours.

Don, you might try looking at the free level of wix.com websites. They look pretty easy to set up, though the free ones are not for commercial selling use. There's only so much you can expect to get for almost no money.
