solved How does Webshot module (in the JR Core) work and what is it for?

The webshot module, buried in JR core, does not appear to have any documentation, and the essential purpose is not described (as far as I can see so far).

I have it enabled for one of my profiles, and the webshot menu tab (see attached screenshot made with an external app) takes me to a page where I can upload a stored image. It does not seem to be an actual tool for taking screenshots as such.

When I upload an image, nothing appears to happen: the image does not appear under the webshot tab in the profile.

What purpose was intended for this module when it was made? What uses have other site owners found for this?

I was hoping that it would somehow help me build up documentation of my own Jr site by taking screenshots and storing them accessibly inside the backend somewhere.

All advice and suggestions welcome.

The Webshot Module
https://www.jamroom.net/ultrajam/forum/webshot/51540/the-webshot-module

Was not created by The Jamroom Network team but an independent developer "UltraJam". They have their own forums here:

https://www.jamroom.net/ultrajam/forum

This is the longest thread on their foums about the webshot module:
https://www.jamroom.net/ultrajam/forum/webshot/53953/webshots-installation-problem

From its description it looks to be a way to allow developers to take screenshots of what they want to take screenshots of, so maybe if you let your users input a URL into their profile, perhaps that module goes and gets a screenshot of that URL to display.

OK - thanks.

Looks like something I don't need especially, even if it is useful for others.

I strongly doubt that you have any need for it.

I haven't used this module for some time, so it is very possible that it no longer works as intended.
