I keep getting this error when trying to finish the install of genosis.
Unable to connect to the MySQL database using the credentials provided - please check:
MySQL error: Access denied for user 'liming'@'ip-107-180-21-20.ip.secureserver.net' (using password: YES)

http://john-liming-society.org/genosis "where I installed the software"
IP Address as host
then I created the database in cpanel
username liming
DB name jaroom
password
email address

I called godaddy and he said to use the ip address as the host, is this correct?
help

If that's what they said to do, then try that.

I use godaddy for domain names, but don't use them for hosting. They don't use cPanel, but a custom setup they built themselves. From the reports we've had over the years GoDaddy is real hit and miss for hosting.

On the plus side they do have easily contactable support though. Many users like that.

They do have cpanel accounts, I have one.
The problem is I did all the things they told me to do and I am still getting the error above.

This error means the "liming" user has not been granted privilege to the "jamroom" DB on the MySQL server - make sure you have granted access to the jamroom DB to that user.

Hope this helps!

Or it could mean that your database exists, but is not on that server, its hard to know with GoDaddy.
