investigating JrChat Question

I have audio pro and I was comparing the jrChat in the forum here vs mine and had a few questions.

1. When the chat is closed you can do a mouse-over on the slide-out button here it goes yellow. Mine does not, This really does not matter to me unless question 2 is true lol.

2. On a new message, does the slide-out button change colors to show a new message has been added?

When there are new chat messages and the chat side bar is closed, the button will change from white to yellow to indicate there are new messages.

If yours is not doing that, try it on a different skin. If it does go yellow there, then its probably a missing CSS class.

Hey Michael - Here is some weirdness. I get the email that you have replied and I click on the forum and see you replied but when I get in the thread, I only see my post. I saw this yesterday also. Looking at Firefox and Chrome btw. I was thinking you cached the forum but after refreshing cache I only see my post. Just an fyi.

ok based on the email, would that css be in the skin or the jrchat module? I can run a compare on them if I know what to look at.

What I'd do would be to open firebug and look a the button, then close the panel, then add a chat message from a different browser. then look at the firebug code to see if any new css classes were added. If there was one like .chat_yellow which didnt have a CSS class in your skin, I'd add that.

Thanks Michael. I tried a few things like replacing the chat.css and skin_dark.css but no go. I have a lot of css with strike-throughs so maybe something is overriding. I will look in the am and see about changing to default skin and see what happens.

changed skin to default audio pro, reset-cache and still no mouse-over highlight on any of the chat buttons. suggestions?

My jrchat button (i'm on a custom skin cloned from Ningja years ago) turns yellow when there are new chat messages I have not read. Once i read them, the button turns white again.
My chat buttons turn to a very pale grey background when I merely hover over them though... unlike the chat buttons here which turns yellow when you hover. The turning yellow when hovering is nice to have, but the most important thing does happen correctly on my site: that my chat button turns yellow when new unread chat posts are there.
