I have imported my Ning site to JAmroom (Thanks Paul!) and could really use some help! I have several forum posts that I would like to make blog posts instead. Is there anyway to do this? TIA

Were the forum posts and the blog posts both belonging to (created by) the same user?

Hi! Yes, basically I just want to recategorize the post. There are several posts by member in our forum on Ning, but I am trying to streamline our new site a bit more and I think they would be more appropriate as blogs.

There are no tools to do this within Jamroom. If there are not that many to move over maybe easier to copy/paste forum topics to new blogs, otherwise a custom module would be needed.

Ok, thanks Paul. If I copy and paste, wouldn't it then be a post by my profile and not by the original user? That would be my only concern, and of course, the comments would be lost.

If the forum posts are by other members (not you) then you have two choices: 1) either copy/paste the post content into your OWN blog (and it would show as being posted by you and they would no longer be able to create blog posts in it, since it'd be your blog), OR 2) that member would have to first create a blog of their own for you (or them) to paste the post into. In other words, they'd have to create a blog first, to post their forum posts into ...if you want it to be seen as posted by them in their blog. And right, either way you'd lose all the comments.

There is a tool available in the jrGroupToForum module - https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/networkmarket/653/group-transfer-tools - that will transfer Forum topics to Group Discussions so if that would work for you, take a look at that.
If you really need them to go to Blogs, a tool could be developed based on the the tools in this module. Unfortunately we have no immediate plans to do that unless it is sponsored by yourself. If you are interested in us doing that, let me know and I'll send you a quotation.
