Hi

I plan on opening an instrumental selling website, I think Jamroom will be a great idea when used with the Superpack for $199, and that's my plan. But I have a question, is it possible to change the displaying names of the skins like instead of "songs" my buttons will say "beats" and is it possible to add a search by genre page or something like this? Please let me know, cause if yes then I'm moving from soundclick to jamroom in the next hours

1. Yes, you can change the text "songs" to "beats" via your ACP > Skins > YOURSKIN > language tab.

2. Yes, a search by genre is possible, there is a genre search in the MediaPro skin...

http://demo.jamroom.net/jrMediaProLight/music

checkout the right side at the top, there is a genre tab.

Hope this helps,
Douglas

"Yes" and "Yes" !!

Welcome to the Jamroom forum.
To be more specific, with all Jamroom modules you have full control over the language strings used, as well as the layout of the module item info via a built in template editor. This means that you can configure the Audio module as a 'Beats' module pretty easily. You can also change its url name so that 'beats' shows in URLs instead of 'audio' so that your site would be fully 'search engine optimised'.
The Jamroom search engine is also very flexible and can be configured to search for genres (as well as anything else).
Hope that helps.

great. Thank you guys for a quick reply. Another small thing, is it possible to charge artists a signup fee?

Indirectly, yes. They would signup for free to a quota with minimum functionality, then subscribe to another quota that gave them full functionality. You, as Admin, are in full control of what functionality is available to different quotas.
Checkout the jrFoxyCart module as this provides the subscription tools, as well as providing digital sales.

Also, bear in mind that to use FoxyCart as a payment gateway requires that you subscribe with them. Their plans start at $15 per month.

wait,it says that I need to signup for foxycart's service before I can use this module on my website, so I'd still need to pay $15 per month for it right?

That is correct. FoxyCart is the actual payment gateway and you subscribe for their services. The Jamroom module provides the interface between your site and FoxyCart.
