Sorry for the dumb question, but I don't use a smartphone.
Please let me know how to instruct this member properly:

---------------
My member asks: "I used to email pictures from my iPhone directly to my photo album. I suspect that this no longer works since the server has changed over to a new computer. Is there a new address which I should use now to do this?"

I responded to him: "What exactly was the 'old address' you used for this process, when it was working for you on the old site, Phil? That info could help me answer you, since I don't use smartphones for uploading things online."

He replied:
"0it8wd03yb1k43537648255@mountaindulcimer.ning.com"
-----------------------

He tried simply changing the email address he was using from mountaindulcimer.ning.com to my new domain, but of course that didn't work. I don't know where the heck he even got the 0it8wd03yb1k43537648255 part from the old ning site for an uploading email address. His member account simply has an AOL email.

But- is there a simple instruction i should give him so he can use his smartphone to upload a new photo to his JR Photos section via email?
Thanks for any help- I have an ipad, but am clueless about this iphone uploading aspect.

There is no email functionality.

What I would expect to happen is he visits the gallery page on his profile:
your-site.com/(HIS PROFILE)/gallery

Then clicks the + button -> "Select images to upload"

and the photos stored on his phone should become visible. Same as using the website version.

Thanks Michael- makes total sense!
I have passed this onto the member and will wait to hear back if he is successful before resolving this thread. :)

Its not impossible to build email functionality, but it would be quite a bit of work. The tickets system has email functionality, so something along the same structure would need to be created.

To be frank, I doubt many of my members actually need this to be built, at least for now.
I just needed to tell that member how to add a photo to his gallery via his phone, so if he responds that he can indeed do so with the 'usual' method you described above, then I'm good with that. The situation might change in a couple of years, who knows.
I'm waiting to hear back from him about whether he can do it the way we suggested now.

He is in fact add his photos to his profile galleries the usual way. He just 'wants' the other way as well. So I'm going to mark this closed, since it's not a high priority thing right now, considering the effort involved. Thanks! :)
