Using the new JR5 Marketplace backend

So with the move of Jamroom.net over to JR5, we've also built a new Marketplace backend that works in conjunction with the Marketplace module installed on JR5 sites. The new Marketplace makes it super easy for sites to install new modules and skins, as well as provides a System Update tool for keeping a site up to date with new releases.

If you are a JR developer, you will have access to the new Jamroom Marketplace backend on jamroom.net. When logged in and viewing your profile, you will see a "Marketplace" button that takes you into your Marketplace section:

Items - these are your items that are currently loaded into the Marketplace.

Channels - all developers can release items into the "Stable" and "Beta" release channels. Additionally you can also create "private" release channels, which is a way for you to release modules and skins to specific sites that you have invited be part of your private channel.

Subscribers - Systems that are subscribed to one of your private channels (if you have any) will be listed in here where they can be removed if needed.

Invites - you can invite a user to have their system join a private channel by sending them an invitation.

Promo Codes - you can offer discounts on your items in the marketplace - either individually, or all items. You can limit the promo code to only be redeemed a specific number of times. Each site can only redeem a promo code one time.

Creating a new Marketplace Item is really easy - simply click on the "Create new marketplace item" button on the marketplace index. Enter the detailed information about the item, upload the file, and you're set. The Marketplace backend will run tests on your upload to ensure it is in the proper format, and that there are no PHP errors or missing files, etc. You can select the Channel you want to release the item into as well, so if this item has been created specifically for a certain site, make sure it is released to the right channel.

I'd highly recommend spending some time checking it out - it's really powerful and should provide a lot of flexibility in how you release your items.

Let me know if you guys have any questions.

Thanks!
