Ok, I waited a long time for 5.3 to fix this and I thought I had this fixed with the new 5.3 updates becuase I could suddenly see our admin posts in the main timeline, but...

I realized today that when I'm logged in as either master admin or a profile admin, I DO see my and my moderators' posts and items in my index page main Activity Timeline. I assumed all my members saw our posts, content additions, and comments as well....but I was wrong.

When i log in as a regular member, I still see NONE of the items, posts, updates, forum discussions, new things added...at ALL by me or my 6 profile admins in the Home page Activity feed. This is bad, because we are among the seven most active members, and our site contributions are deliberately geared towards stimulating participation...but members cant' see any of them in the timeline on the main page! :(

How can I get ADMIN and profile-Admin posts/items/comments/updates to SHOW to regular members in the Activity Timeline on my main page??

Additional related issue: when logged in as master admin, I see in the timeline when I post a RESPONSE to my own forum discussion...but it won't show up when I CREATE a forum discussion. Yet I can see when a regular member creates a new forum discussion. Thus, when i create a new forum discussion, I need to then immediately reply to it to get it to show up on the activity Timeline at all. (but since regular members won't see EITHER action, I guess I need to fix the first issue first!)

Thanks for any help

This issue was reported by another user earlier today. It has been fixed and will be in the next release of the Core module (out next week).
Thanks
Pa

Thanks Paul, so glad it is getting fixed! :)

Will this other variation be fixed as well?:

Have just tried this and am not seeing any issue.
Admin follows User and visa-versa.
Admin and User create topics
Admin and User post on their own and each others topic
Everything shows in both timelines as expected.

Well, if you look on my Home/index page, You'll see in the main timeline when I posted a RESPONSE to a discussion in a forum that I created (the thread about AOL addresses). But it does not show when I actually CREATED that new forum discussion an hour before I responded to it. That action doesn't show up at all in the Timeline. (and as it is now you'll have to be logged in as an admin to see this)

Note- I have my site set so that when anyone 'follows' anyone else it does NOT show in the Timeline...nor does when anyone Comments on someone's profile page. Maybe it's something to do with that?, though I woudln't think so.

Actually, this might well be fixed along with the first fix above. The problem was that whenever an admin created anything, the 'pending' field wasn't being added to the created item's datastore. Most list functions are looking for that field (so as not to include the item in the list if it hasn't been approved) and as it was there at all in admin created items (and that includes timeline entries) they are not included.
Fingers crossed - all this will be sorted with the next Core release.

Ok, I'll revisit the second issue after the new release is applied. Thanks!

UPdate- have applied the new Core update and the various module updates...March 19. Still not functioning I'm afraid. :(

I know it's been a pain in the butt to resolve and I hate to keep harping on it, but this continues to significantly limit the activity on my site, since I and my six Profile Admin moderators are among THE most active members- we're regularly posting things that stimulate forum activity and encourage members to explore the forums and participate...and most members scan the Main Page "Latest Activity" looking for new posts, items, and discussions to go check out. I naively only became aware of the issue about 4 months ago, though it had been going on without my realizing it for over 10 months.

Here are two screenshots of the Main Page Activity Timeline: one showing what is visible when logged in as an Admin, and the other shows what is visible when logged in as a regular member...

I'm not seeing this, either on my test site or on fotmd.
I have a regular member account there (pasher) and when logged in as such I can see all the admin (starred) activities, the same as when logged in as master.
Can you point me to where there might be discrepancies?

Paul, I am thinking something either got tweaked by you fellows or simply 'kicked in' over the past 36 hours to make this start working correctly on my site. (my updated ticket that referred to this thread is now gone as well)
On March 19 when I made my last posts to this thread and added those screenshots...it was still not working on my site, as per my above screenshots.
Now today on the 21st it IS working right (actually for the first time, since I started on Jamroom over a year ago). It's working properly now!!

You can see the evidence of this getting fixed over the past two days if you go to fotmd.com main page (while not even logged in or logged in as a regular member), and look at the activity timeline:
On page 1 (current) of the Timeline, you can see all the activities showing correctly- my avatar and the avatars of my 6 profile admins all have big yellow stars on them, so they are very easy to spot. BUT- once you go back 36 hours and earlier, to page number 3, 4, 25, 50, etc of the Timeline, you will see that there were absolutely NO admin activities showing at all in the Main Page timeline. Zero.

Somehow it got FIXED during the past 36 hours or so.... and REGARDLESS of how/who it got fixed... I'm SO HAPPY!!!! I'm doing the happy dance because this is going to make a big, BIG difference in my site activity and participation!! I can't emphasize enough just how much this is going to beneficially effect my site.

YAYYYYYYYYYYY... I'm marking this issue finally SOLVED! (and keeping my fingers crossed that it really stays solved) =8-D
