Change Owner of Comments

I sometimes want to move a user's comment from one place to another, when they've posted in the wrong place. I can copy the comment and post it for them, but then I'd like to change ownership of that comment.

In Change Ownership [Comments], I have tried the active search for the comment, by typing in the first few words, but it doesn't seem to work. It has suggested the comment to me, including the current owner (me), but I can't click on that suggestion to accept it.

It would be much easier to selecting the comment by comment number. Is there a way of doing that?

Follow-up...
I just managed to select a comment by copying the code at the start of it. In this case "7/30". The comment was suggested and I was able to accept it and change the owner. I think perhaps I didn't leave enough time for the search to return results when I tried it the first time. I tried again with another similar comment but was unable to get the suggestion this time.

I would still like to be able to identify a comment by its number if that is possible, because the text search is very hard to use?

Most datastore items in Jamroom (Blogs, Audio, Video items etc.) have a title field and this is a convenient, identifiable thing to search for when wanting to change an item's owner. Unfortunably, Comments are an exception to this and only have the comment text, so that is what is searched.
I agree that can make thing difficult. I will check the module out to see if it can look for the comment item ID as well.

Thank you Paul. I only use it for re-posting stuff in the correct place, but obviously it helps with replies to the comment, if it is owned by the OP instead of the Admin who moved it.

Have just tried the ChangeOwner module on comments on my test site and it is working but I can see reasons why you might be having trouble with it on your site.
I will revisit the module and update it so that it works better on a large site like yours.

Should I submit this as an enhancement request? [In "change owner" of Comments, the ability to select a comment by its ID number?]

Sorry for the delay on this. I'm actually out of the country atm and not getting as much Jamroom work done as I'd hoped. I'm back home this weekend so will take a look at this early next week.

No problem at all, I was just wondering if you would prefer to have a change request. It's not an urgent issue of course, it just would be very handy.
