Hi Brian

For the image type field options is greyed out, and for file for example if you use a number it will give you a white screen.

Hmm.. definitely should NOT get a white screen - can you let me know what the error is in your php error log?

Thanks!

Soundcloud playback counts are skyhigh?

Using Jamroom

Since the soundcloud player is "auto play" it's going to count a play for everyone that views the page for the song.

Feedback please for jamroom.net site flow

Strumelia:
On the main page at top, the list across touting :
Blogs • Audio • Video • Galleries • Social • eCommerce • More

I'd suggest adding Forums, Events, and Groups...which are things Ning folks will be specifically looking for. Maybe put "Mobile-responsive" instead of the boring "More"

Appreciate the feedback :)

On this page: https://www.jamroom.net/ning-to-jamroom

The page has a dated look, which doesn't inspire confidence. The chunky bold titles??...whole page should look more modern and fresh.
But the biggest problem was that it took me a while to realize that those big green clunky boxes were actually LINKS to go find out about each subject. I thought they were just statements. The "let us do it for you'/import service shouldn't be 'just another green box/statement', since so many ningers need that help and assurance- I feel it should have more importance on that page.

Yeah that is a bit long in the tooth and is a page that is easy to overlook on our end - thanks for the feedback - we'll get some updates in place.

And just to add we've not "invited" any JR site to the showcase in a long time - we need to get on that :)

I find it a little confusing figuring out the diff between "Site Showcase" and "Member Sites" Both pages are supposed to show off live JR sites, right? Why separate?

Member Sites = any JR User that is a member (i.e. any subscription) can "submit" their site to the Members site section - as long as it is a JR site that is not "under construction" we will activate it in the Member list.

Site Showcase - these are sites that we have actively solicited a quote/feedback from the user for the sole purpose of "showcasing" the site - i.e. it is by invitation.

Let me know if that helps.

jrGenosis Skin broke everything

Genosis

techiegirl:
Looks like it was the modules. I didn't see anything about activating them after the bundle was installed. Thank you so much. Please feel free to close this thread or mark it solved.

No problem - when you install anything from the Marketplace it always gets installed into an "inactive" state (we don't want to assume you want it active RIGHT NOW) so you just need to go into the module's "info" tab and activate them.

Glad it is fixed :)

Event Image vs Source

Genosis

lisa:
I am wondering in what instance it is more preferable to add an image to an event as opposed to adding that same image as a source? The same image appears in either instance, and I am not 100% sure why I would add it as a source unless a number of people will be attached to it? Thanks for your thoughts! ~ Lisa

Here's what I do and I have found it works well:

1) If the image is OF the source (i.e. a census page, birth record, etc.) make sure it is attached to the SOURCE.

2) in events where you might have the same Source image showing (say you used the same source for death, memorial and burial) what I do is upload a different image (say of the headstone for burial, and a memorial service program for the memorial event) to the other events so the timeline looks a bit nicer :)

Let me know if that helps.

Error Hosting

info7130:
Hello,
We have ImageMagick installed on a Centos yum ya.

but it is disabled, why?

Also I give a performance check but does nothing

Thank You

The imagemagick "convert" binary must be executable by the web user. Your hosting provider should be able to assist you with that until the binary checks in the Server Check all show green.
