combined audio/video setting order by....

Ning To Jamroom

When you say "created"- does that mean the time the user ADDED them to their video list on your site? Or somehow the time stamp in youtbe for example that actually says when the video was created on YT?

question on controlling uploaded videos by members

Ning To Jamroom

YES! That's exactly what I needed!
In fact, my next question was going to be How to remove the "upload video" option from the "add video" button...so this actually solves the whole issue anyway!

Yay!! :D Closing this now.

question on controlling uploaded videos by members

Ning To Jamroom

That would be a very, very useful modification to the Daily Limits modules. It would enable admins to halt/resume various uploads to our sites, for various purposes.
I'd appreciate if you added that modification to a list of future module enhancements. :)

I guess for now I'll just set it to 1, which will at least keep members from uploading bunches of server-hogging videos at a time.

Thanks Brian!

combined audio/video setting order by....

Ning To Jamroom

Oh, i was looking in the index templates, not the item index templates.

Can you please tell me what the difference is between: *_display_order numerical_asc
and: _created numerical_desc ?

question on controlling uploaded videos by members

Ning To Jamroom

I want to import all the uploaded videos that my mebers currently have on my ning site, and still allow all those videos to show and play in my new JR site. However, I'd like to prevent my members from uploading NEW videos directly to my site in the future, once we go live. I want to instead have them only add videos via Youtube or Vimeo from now on. But I don't want to take away the videos they will have that get imported from ning. Thus, I cannot just de-activate the video module on member profiles, because they wouldn't be able to see their old videos that are already uploaded and working.

I thought I'd be able to do this using the User/Profile Daily limits modules, and I'd simply set the daily video upload limit for members to 0, going into the future and that would prevent NEW videos from being uploaded.
But I now see the module doesn't allow me to set a zero as the limit- it has to be at least the number 1.
How else can I do this?

combined audio/video setting order by....

Brian said:
"Like all Jamroom modules on profiles, the profile owner can order them how they want.
Click on the "set item order" icon on the index header and you can set the item order."

Brian I'm not using Site Builder. I'm looking at both of the new 'combined' audio/video modules: at Index.tpl's and they already seem to be using:
{jrSeamless_list modules=$mods order_by="_created numerical_desc" pagebreak=10 page=$_post.p pager=true}
...so shouldn't they be listed already by their date added?- but they don't seem to be in that order, plus they go to next page after 6, not 10.

What am I not understanding here? I must not be looking in the right place?

How to use the jrGravatar module to provide a default profile image?

Using Jamroom

Curtis, you can change the default profile image for users and profiles to an image of your choosing, without using Garavatar. That gets rid of the 'question mark' avatar, and the generic silhouette avatar. But you only get to use your one image, not multiple rotating ones.

Question Regarding Seamless Module Function

Using Jamroom

Yes, a scroll would be nice! The having to click to a new page for every 6 items is needlessly tedious.
-What module/skin/template do I go to to change the NUMBER of audio and video items displayed ...from only 6 to more? I can do it, just no clue where exactly that setting resides.

These two modules help a LOT! Thank you guys, your hard work is so much appreciated.
This is a workable solution to the profile pages area.

Now I need to solve the similar issue for my Main/Index page, except there it's just a bit different. I'll start a new thread for that later today.

Question Regarding Seamless Module Function

Using Jamroom

I'm excited, but confused about something-

I have everything updated, loaded, and active (including seamless). I checked/allowed the modules for all quotas.
When I am logged in as myself/admin, I see the combined audio and video tabs on all member pages, including my own. They function as expected.

But when I log in as a regular member, I can only see the tabs on my own profile, not on anyone else's. I get no video or audio tabs at all, despite seeing the member's status boxes indicating they have bunches of items. Members need to be able to look at other members' videos and hear their songs.
Do I have a setting not right maybe?
