Self Hosted: You need a web server
Jamroom is written in PHP and requires a MySQL Database server. This means you'll need to have a web hosting account or access to your own server to run Jamroom.

If you are hosting yourself, make sure your server or web host meets Jamroom's Server Requirements.

Recommended: You probably want a Domain Name
While not technically "required", it's a good idea to have a domain name to set Jamroom up on. If you are running your own server you can run Jamroom on a bare IP Address, but that's not going to apply to most of you.

You'll want to either have an existing domain you want to use, or purchase a new domain to run your site under.

If you are looking for a quality domain registration company, we recommend Namecheap.
  • TIP: It is recommended to get your domain name from a domain registrar, and your hosting from a hosting provider - don't buy your domain name through your hosting provider - they may not be very helpful with transferring your domain if you decide to leave for better hosting!
