Creating the files

  • What it does

    The Ning3 plugin turns a Ning 3 member archive, a CSV file you download from your Ning site, into JSON files of Jamroom members.

    Install the Exporter on the Jamroom site you're importing into: it's both the source and the target.

  • Plugin Config

    1. Upload the Ning archive CSV to a folder on your Jamroom server, for example ning, with FTP.
    2. Choose Ning3 as the Active Plugin, save, and open Plugin Config:
    Setting What it does
    Archive Path The folder with the CSV file, from the Jamroom folder, without slashes at the start or end, such as ning
    Profile Quota The quota the Ning members go into
    Merged Tag Optional text added to every imported user and profile

  • Creating the files

    On Create JSON Files, choose the Source CSV File, and start. Then import them with the Importer, with your own site as its Source Site. See Importing the Files.

    The Importer's Convert Media tool also handles media imported from Ning.
