Elastic 2

Applies to: Jamroom 7.0+ Last verified: 2026-10-24
  • What it's for

The skin that comes with Jamroom: clean, responsive and easy to customize. It suits any kind of community, and it's the best skin to clone and build on. The pictures in these docs use it.

Skin: jrElastic2, version 2.1.2 in the Marketplace.

  • Installing it

Install it from the Marketplace (ACP > Marketplace), then activate it: ACP > Skins > (skin) > Info > Set As Active Skin. See Changing the Site Skin. Its settings are on the skin's Global Config tab.

  • Skin settings

    • General: the Welcome Title on the home page, an Admin Blog ID to feature one blog post on the home page, and Dark Mode shows the dark version of the site to visitors whose computer uses dark mode.
    • Social Networks: your site's pages on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. Their icons link there. Enter 0 to hide one.
    • Players: the Player Type (default Blue Monday), and Auto Play for the profile audio, playlist and video players.
    • Profiles: what the profile sidebar shows: Show Online Status, Show Profile Info (the biography), Latest Follower Count and Recently Rated Count (default 12; 0 hides them), Show Profile Stats and Show Profile Tag Cloud.
  • Modules it works with

The skin shows sections for these modules when they're installed: Blog, Audio, Video, Event Calendar, Image Galleries, Forum, Followers, Item Ratings, Item Tags, Search. Without a module, its sections don't show.

  • Tips

Elastic 2 comes with Jamroom, so it doesn't need to be installed. To change its templates, clone it first: see Cloning a Skin.
