I have tried searching the site and on google for some youtube videos i uploaded years ago that i know are still on the site since i see them embedded in blogs and if i try to re-upload the video it tells me it already exists yet i cant seem to find it in any search results? This has me worried as that is going to slow my traffic if not all the content i have on site shows up in search results and it sucks when i am looking for something from the past on my site that i want to share and cant find it. Any ideas whats going on?

yep i try searching using the main search on the site home page - no results
search using the youtube page on the site itself - no results
search on google itself and i checked 10 pages and found no results
the only search i can find it in is through the embed local media search when creating a blog ?

If YouTube itself isn't showing results I'm not sure how we can fix that. Give me one of the videos you're searching and I'll try to do some tests.

Youtube does show results on Youtube itself. That is not the problem but the youtube module on jamroom is supposed to upload the youtube videos to the site and make them searchable. They all have individual pages created after they are uploaded that makes them searchable correct?

Please don't post the same question on different threads about other issues. Instead, start a new topic for this letting us know the YouTube URL so that we can try it on one of our test sites. Thanks

Hey Zachary-
From reading your posts here, I'm getting the impression that you are referring to YT videos that you embedded into BLOG posts. I'm thinking you are searching for these videos on your site's Video section... but they would not be in there. Also if you do a general site search they may not show up by searching for the YT video title if they are simply embedded media files in a blog post.
Were these YT videos you "uploaded to your site" actually added to your site's Video collection, or were they merely embedded files or attachments to discussion or blog posts? That might explain why they are not showing up when you do searches in the YT area of your site, or they might not even show up as blog post 'media file' items when you search the embedded video's youtube title. Just wondering if this might be what the problem is.

No i upload the YouTube videos to the Youtube module (video collection) first and then i add them to blog posts later. I know what you are talking about though i have noticed if you add a video to a blog post directly without adding it to your Youtube page first it will not be in your sites direct Youtube collection. But i think this might have something to do with the titles or tags used in some videos. It could be google doing something too. Since this has happened i have been able to find many others in random google searches. One of the main reasons i have added so many videos to my site is that i hoped it would boost my SEO and in some cases it seems to work. But if its missing some of them than something is going wrong somewhere.

Are you still not seeing some of the videos in your site search? If so, give me a link to a search that does not return the video you feel it should.

Thanks!

No thats the interview i did in 2020 with them. If i search for the 2017 one i find the blog with the youtube embedded in it. And when i first saw that i was curious to see how many views it had on my site and not on youtube so i went to search youtube via my jamroom site. It returned with no results for that video. So i thought maybe for some reason it was not added along with the rest of my youtube channel. So i tried to upload it manually, then it gave me the message that it is already uploaded?

OK so there should be a "stand alone" youtube entry for a video with them from 2017 - let me check.

If i search google i find this https://metaldevastationradio.com/thebeast/blog/887/temple-of-void-interview-on-the-zach-moonshine-show and you can see it is embedded within the blog. But if you go here https://metaldevastationradio.com/metal-videos and search for that video by name it does not show up. And it wont let me upload it, since it says it already exists?

Zachary Moonshine:
How did you find it?

I went to the YouTube index:

https://metaldevastationradio.com/youtube

And searched for it. My suspicion would be that this page:

https://metaldevastationradio.com/metal-videos

may not be using the correct search or is not showing enough results.

That is GLOBAL search results. You likely have more matching videos than the 6 it can show. In our skins we have a "show all results" for each category, which then takes you to the per module search like I linked above.

We are looking into this, we are quite busy so give us some time to figure out whats going on.

I personally don't see an issue on my dev site but I do see the issue on your site.

Thanks!
