Hi there,

I have just had a new sign up on my site http://find-et-band.dk/ - and that´s good! :)

What I need to know is how the OneAll Social Login is working when people sign up/in.

If people are signup the "normal" way I am collecting data from them like "location" and "instrument" i.e., but when people use OneAll to sign up then I don´t get these informations because they don´t put them in the fields here: http://find-et-band.dk/user/signup.

Is it possible to let users choose their "indetity" later on - like in their profile? I know that I can set it up in the form designer, but that means that the fields will also be shown for users who has signed up "normally". And the fields are reset for the "normal" users in their profiles if I choose to let them be able to make the choises in there.

It would be smart if i.e. bands could re-choose what they are looking for. Like if they suddenly need a new drummer.

I hope this is making a little sense to somebody..? It´s a little tricky to explane and my english is not all that good :)

Let me know how I can get around this..?

Thanks a lot!

As long as you use the same field name (i.e. "user_location") in your singup AND in your account section form designer, users that sign up the "normal" way and put it in will see it show up in their account settings, and users that signup via OneAll can add it in.

Hope this helps!

I have tryed that before and now I have done it agian. But still when I take a look at the account settting for i.e. the profile "torbenj" (me) on my site, I know that I ahve chosen "drummer" in "Hedensted Kommune" and "Musician". These informations does not appear under account on my site. All the info are reset so it looks like the http://find-et-band.dk/user/signup page, and I believe that if I save the settings it will "flush" my old setttings from when I signed up the very first time.

What I want is the settings I have chosen the first time to shown on the Account page, so that the setting are still the same after saving - unless I have changed it myself.

Hope it´s possible to understand what I mean? :)

Thanks :)

Make sure you are looking in the right place - if you have created a custom field called "user_location" on your signup form, then you must create the same field in the user account section - not the profile settings section - i.e. on this form:

http://find-et-band.dk/user/account

NOT on this form:

http://find-et-band.dk/profile/settings

I know what you mean. I have done it under account settings, but it seems like the system does not remember the user settings in this way...

I hope there is something to do about this little issue. I just dont know what?

Let me know what the issue could be here...

Thanks

I don't know what it would be - I'll have to try and reproduce it here. Just to be clear, can you let me know the name of the field you've added to both your signup and user account forms?

Thanks!

Yes, sure!

Here is the 3 fields from: http://find-et-band.dk/user/account/

user_town
user_type
user_instrument

And it´s the same for the 3 fields on: http://find-et-band.dk/user/signup

user_town
user_type
user_instrument

There are other fields as well, but the issue are in these dropdown and multiple choise fields.

I can send my login along via email if that´s more easy for you?

Let me know...

Thanks :)

I found a few minutes here to check this, and found the root cause of this not working - I have fixed it in User Accounts 1.3.1 - update to that new version and you should be good to go.

Hope this helps!

I have done the upgrading - and it works like it should! :)

The information from the sign up is saved to the user account settings. But it only works for new accounts, but that´s no issue for me because I don´t have many sign ups yet :)

But I guess the system will remember the info as soon as people save it again...

Well done!

Thanks a lot! :)

Yeah I should have mentioned that it was a bug that was preventing the data from being saved on signup - not an issue with the actual form setup, so it should all work now going forward, but existing accounts that entered something in the signup will need to re-enter that in the account settings.

Thanks!
