There is nothing built in to allow a standard user to delete their account. They can delete stuff created on their profile.

If they are able to create other profiles ( Profile Admin or Power User ) then they should be able to delete accounts they create.

Currently there is no option like "delete my account and all my stuff" that is user facing.

Could be added with a module if necessary.

ACP=>Profiles=>Profile=>Profile Options=>Allow Profile Deletion
This will allow users to delete themselves from a site. Their profile, user account and all their content will be gone.

heheh you guys.

It's GREAT to have that option by the way.
On some sites where members come and go for quick info and are mostly 'fans' but who don't tend to post much content anyway, it's good to allow them to just leave and delete themselves.
On other sites however, you can have some very active long term members who have contributed lots of interesting or valuable content on your site. If they just suddenly left and deleted all their stuff, it'd leave a whole lot of crippled/orphaned/disappeared content behind. This can really damage a site.
One member i had who had a very important Group on my site that they had created loooong ago (when I used to allow members to create certain groups after I approved them)... suddenly wanted to up and leave. I knew nothing until they wrote me that they couldn't figure out how to delete their account. This gave me the chance to use the Change Owner module to transfer ownership of their group to me first, before I deleted his account for him. That saved the important Group from simply disappearing...thus preserving seven years of terrific discussions that others had started in that group.
Jamroom offers some really terrific functions, options, and modules. (also three cheers for the Change Owner module!!)

you make a good point strumelia. it was one of my staff that asked me about it so its not something i think many people are really worried about anyway but i just told him i would ask in here and see if thats possible but in all reality its better for me to just delete none active users if i need to rather than let them do it since like you say if they have added blogs and videos and posts all over that is valuable to a site. i am ok with the way this is set up now
