Forcing users to re-login

Due to the impending GDPR laws that are fast approaching we are putting up new terms of service for all users to agree to.

We're using the Terms of Service module but we need to force all users to login again so that they get to see the terms of service.

Is it just of case of resetting the 'auto login reset' to 7 days for example so everyone will eventually get forced to login again or is there a way of forcing everyone to login again?

Cheers

Dave

I'd temporarily disable the auto login reset and set the session reset to 1. Then go to the Dashboard and Users Online and log everyone out.
That should make sure everyone needs to relogin so as to see your ToS

Under GDPR, users have to not only explicitly consent to each use of data, but we have to record which version of that consent (and when) they did so.

So agreeing to forum notifications (for example) is different to agreeing to receive a newsletter.

Can the ToS module do this?

All notifications are under the control of the user under their NOTIFICATIONS panel in their account settings. For you thats here:

I think to a large extent users of social networks will be forgiving if they can see that site owners are acting in good faith. We can't force all members to actually login or agree to something by any given date.

All we can do is put the TOS statement up, and tell all users that it is there, and also when there is any significant change to it.

Eventually the people who care will login and see it, and agree or not.

That's my hope at least.
